Just had an excellent 75 minute, deep tissue massage (including pre massage consultation) with Emily. It was needed. There were a couple of specific painful areas of my body that needed extra work and she did a great job in targeting those areas as well as doing an excellent full body massage overall. I'm very happy with the results and immediately feeling much better. Thank you Emily.

Transformative Massage Tailored to You :
Regular massage offers benefits that go far beyond immediate relief. Many of my clients report better sleep, clearer thinking, and a greater sense of control over their day-to-day lives.
At my first massage job, a residency at Radio Salon, King’s Cross, I offered Swedish and deep tissue massage. A client came in with chronic arm and shoulder pain and even though my training at the time was all relaxation focused, the client left pain-free.
At her next session a month later, she shared that her pain and mobility had remained vastly improved. This felt miraculous to me; this was the moment I realised how transformative massage can be. Curious to learn how my treatments could offer more to my clients, I studied Sports Massage and then took the Advanced Clinical Massage diploma at the Jing Institute of Massage and Complementary Medicine in Brighton. At Jing, I specialised in acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions.
Relaxation remains core to my practice. Effective massage engages the parasympathetic nervous system to bring you into deep relaxation, then combines this with precise clinical work and targeted stretching to release pain and tension throughout the body. Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, recovery from an injury, or simply some moments of calm in your busy life, I will tailor each of your treatments to your needs.
NEW CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: I am currently only accepting new male clients if they have been referred by existing clients or someone else I know.
Lift, sculpt, release, relax. Face, neck and shoulder massage.
Clinical massage is closely related to sports, remedial and therapeutic massage. All of this forms of massage intend to go beyond a simple spa-style relaxation treatment, and to look into any issues you might be facing in body or mind and help you work on them.
The definitions of clinical, sports, remedial and therapeutic massage really all blend into one. In clinical massage, we begin with an in-depth consultation. This isn’t necessarily very long, but makes sure I have enough understanding of what’s going on for you in body and mind to be able to create the right treatment plan for you. I will then use techniques such as myofasical release, trigger point therapy, stretching, deep tissue massage and soothing effleurage to work on any pain you’ve been experiencing and to help you fully destress, unwind and reset.
Another key aspect of clinical massage is regular communication; whilst I’m always delighted and very flattered if my client falls asleep, in clinical massage it is less likely. This is because I will ask you to let me know when you can feel that I’m on any tender spots (trigger points) so that I can work into those areas to treat them. Massage therapists are very intuitive and we develop a ‘listening touch’, but you know your own body better than I ever could, and so your input is always invaluable during a clinical treatment. Some aspects of your massage will be more interactive than others and some stretches may involve active input from you, too. Of course, if you’re exhausted and all you want is to sleep, you can always let me know and I’ll be sure to let you drift off.
I would be happy to have my work described as clinical, sports, remedial or therapeutic massage. Increasingly, I actually prefer ‘remedial’ or ‘therapeutic’ because I think they have a gentler, more holistic sound. All of my treatments have relaxation at their core and I believe that allowing the mind to let go is a core tenet of the most effective bodywork.
