Cloud Nine was founded in 2009, but the brand’s story began much earlier. After transforming the industry once with the creation of ghd, Susan Powls knew heat styling could be kinder, especially as women began to recognise the damage caused by excessive heat. In 2006, she stepped away from ghd to create a tool that adapted temperature to different hair types, improving hair health.

That idea became Cloud Nine. Still independent, still based in Harrogate, and still a family business now spanning three generations, Cloud Nine remains guided by the belief that the kinder we are to our hair, the stronger it becomes.
