Massage - please remember that after a massage, you can feel tired and sleepy due to being super relaxed! Massage involves a lot of lymphatic drainage movements that move toxins around the body, and while it is incredible for healing and restoring balance, you can feel light-headed, achy, sore and lethargic afterwards. It is strongly advised that you rest and allow the effects of the massage to work. Stay well hydrated! Upping your water intake is also great advice to help the body keep flushing out those toxins! Should you feel exceptionally achy or get a headache, then taking ibuprofen or paracetamol is absolutely fine as long as this will not interfere with any other medication you are taking. Having a nice gentle stretch that night and the following morning can also be beneficial after a massage! Stretching in general is amazing for the body and if you can incorporate more stretching into your daily routine you will be amazed how this will help your body to repair and fully feel the good affects of a massage. If you have any other symptoms or feel unwell, do get in touch for further advice as we are always happy to help.
