Brow Lamination & Lash Lift Aftercare

Stay Away From Water

For the first 24 to 48 hours after your Brow Lamination or Lash Lift, you will need to avoid water and steam, as moisture can relax the lamination/lift and make it lose its form.

Activities to avoid include showering, bathing, swimming, and sitting in a sauna.

No Stomach Sleeping

The next post-lash lift aftercare direction is to avoid sleeping stomach-down. If your client rests with their face pressed into a pillow or mattress, their setting lashes may change direction or shape.

Don't Poke or Prod

We understand. The urge to touch newly laminated brows or lifted lashes is intense! Too much poking and prodding can irritate the eye area and lead to wonky, uneven brows & lashes. The occasional gentle touch is okay, but do not to roughly rub your eyes.

Avoid (Most) Skincare & Makeup

For 24, you will need to steer clear of most skincare and makeup products.

No shampoo, creams, face wash, or mascara.

After 24 hours start using your nourishing oil at least once a day.

SPRAY TAN CHECKLIST

24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SPRAY TAN:

  • Exfoliate
  • Wax &/or Shave

DAY OF YOUR SPRAY TAN:

  • No shaving, waxing, moisturiser, oils, deodorant, make up or perfume. These products act as a barrier & have a negative effect on your spray tan.
  • If you have any deodorant, make up or perfume on shower before your appointment with a mild soap. No body wash or hair washing before appointment.
  • Wear loose clothing. If raining wear long sleeves/pants. A towel to cover your car seat is recommended to prevent any bronzer transfer.

DURING YOUR SPRAY TAN'S DEVELOPMENT TIME:

  • No contact with water, heat, exercise & any tasks that may cause you to sweat.
  • Relax & let your spray tan develop

TIME IS UP:

  • Lightly rinse your body in a warm shower for about 30 seconds only. Do not use any shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap or wash cloths at this time as your tan ins continuing to develop after you have rinsed off your bronzer.
  • Whilst rinsing you will see alot of brown coloured water coming away from you skin. Do not worry, this is normal & is simply the bronzer washing away. Your fantastic tan is still developing & the colour will be visible in 6-8 hours, but will continue to deepen over 24-48 hours.

MAINTAINING YOUR SPRAY TAN:

  • Apply moisturiser once your spray tan has fully developed (12 hours)
  • Moisturise day & night. This is very important!
  • When showering do not use products that contain sulphates as they can break down & strip your tan. Pat dry rather than rub the skin.
  • Avoid Chlorinated pools/spas & oils (ie. massage oil) as they will strip your tan.
  • Your spray tan will last between 7 - 10 days depending on how well you look after it. You can also use a gradual tan moisturiser to help lengthen the longevity of your spray tan.

FAQ'S

What do I wear for my spray tan?

  • Idealy as little as possible to ensure you get an all over natural looking tan. Some old underwear or we do supply disposable g-strings.

My tan has turned green under my arms?

  • The instant bronzer has had a reaction to deodorant or perfume on your skin. This is only temporary & as soon as you shower this will disappear. If you notice any greenish colours after you have showered you still have some bronzer left on your skin & it requires further washing. Heat & sweat can also cause reactions with bronzers.

I just had a shower & my tan has washed off down the drain?

  • The colour you see washing off down the drain is just bronzer. Bronzer added to the spray tan products to show your technician where they have sprayed & give a colour guide. Your tan will develop over the following 6-8 hours.

Can I get a spray tan while I am pregnant?

  • Always consult with your doctor during your pregnancy & we advise never to spray tan in your first trimester.

Teeth Whitening Aftercare

THE WHITE DIET

After a teeth whitening treatment, the pores of your enamel are open & this makes them extra vulnerable to any stains which can reverse a lot of the whitening benefit from your treatment. Follow the White Diet fro 24-48 hours after a teeth whitening treatment. Once the pores close, which usually happens within 24-48 hours after the procedure, you can resume your normal habits. An easy rule to remember is: Anything that would stain white fabric... Avoid it!!!

NON-STAINING BEVERAGES

  • Water
  • Sparkling Water
  • Milk

BEVERAGES TO AVOID

  • Lemonade, Orange Juice, any acidic fruit juices
  • Tea & Coffee
  • Colas & other fizzy drinks
  • Energy Drinks

NON-STAINING ALCOHOLIC DRINKS

  • Vodka
  • Gin
  • White Wine
  • Champagne

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS TO AVOID

  • Red Wine
  • Stout or Dark Beer
  • Coloured mixed drinks
  • Coloured Cocktails
  • Dark Spirits

FOOD YOU CAN HAVE

  • Chicken
  • Turkey
  • White Fish
  • White Rice
  • White Pasta
  • White Sauce
  • Cauliflower
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Potatoes (NO Skin)
  • Bananas
  • Peeled Apple

FOODS TO AVOID

Try to avoid foods with colour. The more colourful, the more likely it can stain your teeth.

  • Coloured fruit & vegetables ie. Capsicum, Carrots & orange fruits & vegetables
  • Broccoli, Spinach & green vegetables
  • Dark & Milk Chocolate
  • Rye & Dark Bread
  • Tomatoes & red sauces such as Spaghetti Sauce
  • Curries & Pickles
  • Beetroot
  • Berries
  • Butter & Margarine
  • Coloured Lollies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Avoid extremely hot or cold liquids. These are dangerous to your white smile because they change the temperature of your teeth. This temperature change (hot & cold cycling) causes teeth to expand & contract, allowing stains to penetrate your teeth. Try cutting down on these types of drinks (including coffee & tea) or try drinking them with a straw to reduce the amount of time they are in contact with your teeth.

Avoid foods & drinks that are acidic. Acidic foods & beverages open up the pores of the tooth enamel allowing stains to more easily penetrate your teeth. Again use a straw to help minimise the contact.

Cut back on drinking & smoking. Frequent consumption of alcoholic drinks & heavy smoking can reverse the effects of teeth whitening. Many alcoholic drinks such as wine have tannins that can stain the teeth. The same goes for the nicotine in tobacco. If you cannot quit, at least try to reduce the frequency. Alcohol also reduces your resolve to avoid food which may stain your teeth.

Use smudge proof lipstick. Use smudge proof lipstick to keep it from getting on your teeth because regular lipstick can stain teeth.

For long lasting results, be sure to follow the White Diet during & after every teeth whitening, even home treatment kits.

You may have a follow up treatment in 4 months if you desire. Keep in mind the more regularly you have a teeth whitening treatment the smaller the results of the treatment will be as there are not as many stains to bleach.

Teeth Whitening FAQ's

How long does a treatment take?

  • 1 - 1.5 hours is all that is needed to achieve maximum results.

What results can be expected?

  • This depends on each individual & the extent of discolouration, generally from 5-14 shades lighter can be achieved. The more stained your teeth the more dramatic the result will be. Teeth whitening whether done by a dentist or another technician will not whiten your tooth enamel, the process will bleach the stains on the surface of your teeth. The results are also relevant to how regularly you have a teeth whitening procedure or use home whitening treatments. Where whitening is done every 6-12 months it is considered a maintenance procedure & results will be less dramatic.

Should teeth whitening be done by a Dentist?

  • Teeth whitening is purely cosmetic & non dental. The products we use are gentler than & just as effective as those used by the Dentist. All our products are Australian compliant & produced to the highest standards. Teeth whitening, no matter who does it, bleaches the stains from the surface of the teeth, it does not whiten enamel.

Is teeth whitening safe?

  • We offer the latest whitening gel approved for use in Australia. We have a hygienic non-touch procedure, at NO time will a technician touch you or your mouth. Our gel is gentle & safe, problems are extremely rare. Teeth whitening is safe for crowns & veneers, although these will not lighten as much as natural teeth.

Is teeth whitening suitable for everyone?

  • Teeth whitening is a treatment most people want & can have. However it is not recommended for children under 16 years of age or for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not have a teeth whitening treatment if you have gum disease or are requiring dental work.

How long will a teeth whitening treatment last?

  • Teeth will maintain their fresh new appearance for around one year. Re-staining depends largely on diet & lifestyle. Smoking, coffee, tea, fruit juice, sodas etc. all staining foods & beverages will eventually re-stain the surface of your teeth.
