- Booking regular maintenance appointments is essential to help prevent damage and keep your nails in top shape. - As your nails grow, the apex shifts towards the free edge, making them top-heavy and unbalanced. This increases the risk of breakages, splits and cracks. - How often should you book? Every client's nails are different! Growth rate, nail condition and lifestyle all play a role in how often you should get maintenance. A general guideline is every 2-3 weeks however this may vary for each client
• Avoid hot water for 24 hours - No hot showers, saunas, or hot tubs right after your appointment • Moisturise your cuticles - Apply cuticle oil, butter or balm daily to keep your nails and surrounding skin hydrated and nourished • Wear gloves when cleaning - Wear gloves to protect your nails from harsh chemicals and water exposure • Do NOT pick or peel - Picking or peeling gel enhancements off can damage your natural nails • Don't use your nails as tools - Avoid opening cans, picking at labels, or using your nails in place of tools • Be mindful of chemicals and dyes - Chlorine, sunscreen, insect repellent, hair dye, fabric dye, and spices can cause lifting or discolouration
