It is always a good idea to sit for a few minutes after a massage, which includes being in a relaxed state. Rest as much as possible and avoid strenuous exercise in the next few hours. Very heavy meals should be avoided, a light snack is preferable so your digestive system is not overloaded. All of this will enable your body to use it's energy for the natural healing process, if it is needed. Toxins can be released after massaging tight muscles, sometimes muscles can feel quite sore. These aches and pains will pass quickly and they can be helped by taking a warm bath or shower. Drink plenty of water, or well diluted fruit juice, or drink herbal teas to reduce toxic reactions. Take extra care whilst driving and in the tasks you are performing, your reactions may be slower. It is advisable not to drink alcohol for a few hours after treatment. Keep yourself warm. Try to relax, if you do need to go back to work, it's a good idea to take so fresh air beforehand. If possible have a quiet evening. Occasionally you might experience a slight head ache which will soon pass.
