I hope you're loving your new glow. Following these simple aftercare tips will help your tan develop beautifully and last as long as possible.
Your first 8 hours
For the best results:
Wear loose, dark clothing.
Avoid getting wet (including rain!).
Don't exercise or do anything that makes you sweat.
Avoid deodorant, perfume and moisturiser.
Try not to touch or scratch your skin.
If you're sleeping before rinsing, wear loose long sleeves and trousers if possible.
Don't worry if you notice a slight bronzed colour transferring onto clothing or bedding – this is just the cosmetic guide colour and will wash out.
Your first shower
After your recommended development time (usually 8 hours, unless we've discussed otherwise):
Rinse using lukewarm water only.
Don't use shower gel or soap during your first rinse.
Rinse until the water runs clear.
Pat your skin dry with a towel, don't rub.
Your tan will continue to settle over the next 24 hours.
Making your tan last longer
To keep your glow looking fresh:
✔ Moisturise every day. ✔ Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. ✔ Take shorter, lukewarm showers. ✔ Pat yourself dry after showering. ✔ Wear SPF if you're spending time in the sun (your spray tan does not protect you from UV rays).
Avoid
To help prevent your tan fading unevenly, try to avoid:
Long hot baths.
Swimming pools and hot tubs.
Saunas and steam rooms.
Exfoliating products.
Oil-based body products.
Waxing or shaving too frequently.
When your tan starts to fade
After around 7–10 days, gently exfoliate your skin to remove any remaining tan before your next appointment. This will help your next spray tan go on smoothly and evenly
