Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 - 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 - 48 hours. This means: No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only). No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments. No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans). No sport, gym work or other exercise. Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands. Wear clean, loose fitting clothes. Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools. Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist. To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product. To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment and then continuing a couple of times every week, exfoliate the areas you get waxed using a dry brush or exfoliating mitt. Take the brush and just before you step into the bath or shower gently brush the area you get waxed whilst your skin and the brush is dry. After you’ve bathed/showered, apply some baby oil or E45 lotion to the waxed area. Moisturise every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs. You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing; Please do not shave between your appointments. To maintain your smooth appearance, I recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks
Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours.
Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours.
Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment.
Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki coloured brows).
Your stylist will apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours.
Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks.
To really enhance laminated brows and maintain that freshly laminated look right up to your next appointment, an ultra-strong eyebrow gel like Brow Glue is a must have.
You should avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Coming into contact with water could interfere with the lamination process and impact the longevity of your treatment. Avoid swimming pools and baths for 24 hours and be extra careful in the shower and when washing your face (avoiding if possible).
Your stylist will apply some make up to complete your BrowSculpt treatment. After that, we recommend that you avoid applying any heavy make up around the brow (such as foundation or concealer) for 24 hours after. The hair follicles can remain open for a while after hair removal, so if you are prone to sensitivity or breakouts, you may find that heavy make up could clog the pores.
After hair removal, the skin can be left sensitive and prone to irritation from heat. For this reason, you should avoid sunbeds for at least 48 hours after your brow lamination treatment.
ALLOW AMPLE DEVELOPMENT TIME
Patience is key when it comes to a spray tan. Give the tanning solution time to work its magic by waiting at least 8-12 hours before showering. Some tans may require longer development periods, so it's essential to follow your technician's specific recommendations.
OPTIONS FOR LOOSE, DARK-COLORED CLOTHING
After your spray tan, your skin is sensitive and prone to staining. Wearing loose, dark clothing is a must to minimize the risk of smudging or transferring the tanning solution onto your clothes. This precaution ensures your tan sets evenly without any mishaps. If you are needing more ides about what to hear read all about it HERE
KEEP YOUR SKIN HYDRATED
Maintaining proper skin hydration is crucial for prolonging the life of your spray tan. Apply a mild, hydrating moisturizer daily to prevent dryness and flakiness. Steer clear of products containing harsh chemicals or exfoliants, as they can prematurely strip away your tan.
EXTEND YOUR TAN WITH SELF-TANNER
To keep your tan looking fresh and vibrant, consider using a gradual self-tanning lotion. This will help extend the lifespan of your spray tan and maintain its brilliance. Be sure to choose a self-tanner that complements the shade of your spray tan for a seamless transition.
PAT, DON'T RUB, AFTER SHOWERING
When you do decide to shower after the recommended waiting period, remember to pat your skin dry gently instead of vigorously rubbing it with a towel. Rubbing can exfoliate the top layer of your skin, potentially leading to premature fading. By patting, you'll help preserve your tan's longevity. All the dos and donuts about shower are right.
AVOID SWEATING AND WATER ACTIVITIES
For the first 24 hours post-spray tan, stay away from activities that could make you sweat excessively or involve water exposure. This includes vigorous workouts, swimming, and even washing dishes without gloves. Sweat and water can dilute your tan, causing it to fade unevenly.
SAY NO TO EXFOLIATION
Exfoliating your skin is a big "no-no" after a spray tan. This includes scrubs, loofahs, and abrasive washcloths. Exfoliation can strip away the top layer of your skin, along with your tan. If exfoliation is necessary, wait until your tan has completely faded, and then proceed with caution.
SKIP HOT BATHS AND PROLONGED SHOWERS
Hot water can be detrimental to your tan's lifespan. It can strip your skin of essential oils, causing your tan to fade more quickly. Opt for lukewarm showers and keep them brief. Additionally, avoid long soaks in hot baths or hot tubs, as they can also accelerate tan fading.
BE WARY OF PERFUMES AND FRAGRANCES
Fragrances, especially those containing alcohol, can be harsh on your freshly sprayed tan. They have the potential to break down the tanning solution, leading to blotchy or uneven fading. Be cautious when applying perfumes, and consider using fragrance-free products to minimize any adverse effects.
