To keep your gel nails looking flawless and feeling fabulous for longer, here’s some easy care tips:
Be gentle for the first 24 hours! – Your gel is fully cured, but still settling in. So skip super hot baths, saunas, or long steamy showers to keep everything perfect!
Keep those cuticles happy! – Daily moisturizing with cuticle oil and hand cream is your secret weapon to prevent lifting and keep nails strong.
Watch out for certain products! – Things like insect repellent, sun creams, retinol, or anything with alcohol can sneakily break down your gel. After using them, just give your hands a quick cleanse to avoid any premature lifting.
Gloves are your nails’ best friend! – When you’re cleaning, doing dishes or gardening, pop on some gloves to protect your manicure from harsh chemicals and extra water.
Keep your nails fresh – Gel manicures usually last 2–4 weeks. Leaving too long between appointments can put extra stress on your natural nails, which might lead to cracks or breaks. So keep up with your appointments to stay polished and protect your nail health
Hands off the peeling! – Picking or peeling your gel nails might seem tempting, but it can damage your natural nails and mess with your next set. If you want to remove them, let me handle it with a professional soak-off.
Remember, nails aren’t tools! – Opening cans or scratching labels? Use your fingertips or other items to avoid chips or cracks.
Put the file down! – I know it’s tempting to shape or file your nails yourself, but try to resist. Filing can break the seal on the free edge and cause your gel to lift sooner than it should.
When you take care of your gel nails, you’re also helping your natural nails grow stronger underneath—win-win!
