Healing crisis If it is your first massage you may experience “a healing crisis” this is completely normal and is the bodies way of detoxifying symptoms may include: Sore, aching muscles Heightened emotional state Runny nose or more mucous Continue following the aftercare and symptoms will subside after 24-48 hours support your bodies recovery and detox process.

Microneedling Post treatment advice

Refrain from touching the skin until the pores have had a chance to close this will prevent transfer of bacteria from hands to face and prevent infection. Use a gentle face wash to cleanse the skin but do not massage the skin post treatment for 2 weeks Avoid soap and exfoliation and use a clean towel to pat face dry - only use Luke warm water and avoid extremes of temperature. Use of an intensive moisturiser for a week after the treatment is advised as the skin may feel drier than usual - this is quite normal Avoid fragranced skin care for 3-5 days post treatment to avoid irritation. Make up may be applied once the skin has settled but ensure all make up brushes are scrupulously clean to avoid risk of potential infection. Avoid extreme temperatures for two weeks post treatment- sunbeds, sun exposure, steam baths, saunas. Apply a moisturiser with a sunscreen daily at least SPF 30 Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching or depilatory creams for 72 hours. Do not swim in chlorinated water for approximately 14 days. Report any skin concerns to your practitioner.

No Botox, collagen injections or dermal fillers. For 72 hours after treatment Do not use anti ageing creams - AHAs, Glycolics or retinol. Do not use exfoliating products. At all times during the course of microdermabrasion SPF 15 must be applied and exposure to UV should be avoided. Regular moisturiser applications are vital to replenish moisture and prevent the skin from becoming dry and peeling. Skin products must be between ph 4.5 and 7 Skin care that contains a high percentage of botanicals and essential oils are UNSUITABLE for use after microdermabrasion treatment as some ingredients may cause an allergic reaction. Gentle soothing products free from the above ingredients should be used during the course.

Waxing After care advice After waxing mild redness, swelling and a pin prick reaction is normal and should dissipate after 8-10 hours it is important to follow the aftercare below to promote healing of the skin.
