- No rubbing the treated area for the first 48 hours - No heat treatment for the first 48 hours - Avoid water on the area for the first 24 to 48 hours - Avoid makeup on brows for 48 hours - No sunbathing, swimming, sauna and steam for the first 48 hours - No active, exfoliating or anti-ageing products for 48 - After 24 hrs, use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser to avoid premature fading of the henna color. - Maintain well hydrated brows by applying a fragrance-free and oil-free moisturizer. - Sun protection is vital for both skin health and also aids in tint/stain
- Please arrive with clean lashes, free from make up and mascara. - Do not rub your lashes - Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hrs. - Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes. - Do not use Sauna/Steam or swimming pool for 24hrs. You may use these facilities after this time but may weaken the effect of the lift. - Do not wear eye make up for 24 hours. - Avoid waterproof mascara. - No other facial beauty treatments for 24hrs. - If redness or irritation occurs, apply a cool damp cotton compress to the eye area. If symptoms persist for more than 24 hours seek medical advice - Do not sleep on your face. - Oil based products will weaken the lift over time. - A lash tint may be desired between treatments.
- Do not get the brow area wet for 24 hours -Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam, and swimming pools for 48 hours -Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area for 24 hours -Do not use exfoliating, active, and/or anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days BEFORE and AFTER your treatment. - Avoid fake tanning products on the face for three days BEFORE and AFTER your treatment. - Avoid applying makeup on the area on and around the brow for 24 hours. - Book a maintenance appointment between treatments (3-4 weeks post treatment) to maintain the integrity of your brows and to keep them nourished.
- Wash hands and nails with anti bacterial soap. - Apply cuticle oil daily. - Do not pick, bite or peel the product as this will cause damage to your natural nails. - Avoid prolonged periods in water. - Avoid excessive heat. - Wear gloves for cleaning and chores. - Do not use your nails as tools.
- Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and stay hydrated - Avoid direct sunlight/tanning beds for at least 48hrs - ALWAYS wear at least an SPF 30 (preferably 50!) - Avoid make up for the first 24hrs where possible to get the most from your facial products - Avoid any active or exfoliating products on your face for at least 48hrs - Avoid activities and workouts that cause excessive sweating for 48 hours. Avoid swimming or saunas for at least 48hrs to prevent irritation and infection. -Do not undergo any other facial treatments for at least a week -Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking as they can interfere with the healing process and overall skin health.
- Keep the area clean using appropriate aftercare. Do this no more than twice a day. - Keep area dry as moisture can lead to bacteria. - Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning your piercing. -Do not remove your jewellery during the healing process. - Avoid putting body creams, makeup, moisturisers, and perfumes directly on the piercing. - In the shower, try to keep soaps or shampoos away from the area and rinse thoroughly after. - Do not pull or pick the dried matter because it is attached to the healing tissue. - Avoid swimming in chlorinated pool water or freshwater lakes as your piercing heals.
30 DAYS BEFORE PROCEDURE: - Avoid Botox and fillers around the lip area. - Avoid Glycolic acid, chemical peels, and laser treatments on the face. - Avoid Retinols and anti-aging creams eg. Retin. 2 WEEKS BEFORE PROCEDURE: - Avoid all facials, bleaching treatments, or waxings around the lip area. - Avoid extensive sun exposure and sunburn on the face. 1 WEEK BEFORE PROCEDURE: - Avoid Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen - Avoid fish oils, DHA supplements, cayenne supplements, turmeric, vitamin e, niacin (or anything that can cause blood thinning). If any of the above are taken for medical purposes, please consult with your physician. - Avoid smoking - Keep your lips well hydrated with a good lip balm 1-3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE: - Avoid alcohol and caffeine. - Gently exfoliate your lips 2 days prior to procedure. - Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water -Avoid intense physical activities on the day of your procedure. IMPORTANT NOTICE If you have ever had a cold sore, been prone to any type of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) or you may have the herpes simplex virus that lies dormant in your system, this procedure could cause an outbreak. It is best to consult with your doctor and upon your doctor’s recommendation, take doctor-prescribed medication before and after the lip procedure to help prevent or lessen the severity of an outbreak.
- Apply an appropriate healing balm regularly using a clean cotton bud. Wash your hands before applying the product and do not use the same bud in the product more than once. - Use a gentle facial cleanser during the first week. Do not splash wash your face. Do however clean your enhancement twice daily with damp cotton pads. - If your lip blush gets wet, gently pat the area dry using a clean tissue. - DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your lips as the colour may heal unevenly and you could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. - Allow the colour to flake away by itself. - No make-up should be applied close to your lip area for 3 days. - Avoid eating spicy and salty foods and drink through a straw for 3 days. - No kissing for 5 days to prevent infection. - Do not receive skincare beauty treatments for 7 after the application of your lip tattoo. - Avoid direct sun, tanning treatments, Jacuzzis, saunas, saltwater, chlorinated pools and direct shower spray for 2 weeks. - Do not receive bleaching, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to your lips for at least 2 weeks. - Do not receive lip filler treatments for at least 2 weeks. IMPORTANT NOTES If you suffer from cold sores at present or anytime in the past use an anti-herpes medication for 1 week before and after treatment. If an outbreak does occur it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process. Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined for 4 – 5 days and will then shed away appearing as if little or no colour is present. Over the next 3 weeks, the colour will blossom into a considerably softer version of the original colour. The approximate healing period is 14 days, however, healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised if you are generally stressed and by poor diet. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the top-up visit allowing us to fine-tune your lip tattoo. - Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your micro-pigmentation enhancement. If you are planning a chemical peel, laser or IPL on your face or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your lip tattoo. - Please inform the National Blood Service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for 4 months post-application
- The skin must be free of all irritations. - Clients with diagnosed conditions that have been waived are required to bring a doctor's note stating their approval. - Do not take part in physical activities where you might sweat a lot. It will negatively affect the pigment implantation. - Avoid Alcohol and caffeine 24 hours prior to your treatment. - Avoid exposure to sun and tanning one week prior to the procedure. - Do not pick/ tweeze/ wax/ perform electrolysis one week before the procedure. - Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Advil/ Ibuprofen 48 hours before the procedure. - Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins and “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements 48 hours prior to procedure. They are natural blood thinners. - Discontinue Retin - A at least 4 weeks prior to and post treatment and avoid the eyebrow area after the procedure. - Avoid use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to eyebrow area 2 weeks prior and avoid the eyebrow area after the procedure. - Avoid Chemical, Laser Peels, Microdermabrasion, or facials for 4 weeks prior procedure. - No antibiotic use for 30 days prior to appointment. - Please note: you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
- After the procedure, gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. -Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents the hardening of the lymphatic fluids. - Wash daily to remove bacteria, build-up of product and oils, and dead skin. - Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser like Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or baby shampoo. - Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. - To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants. - Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of Aftercare 2 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. - Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin. - NEVER put the product on a wet or damp skin. - Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep. - Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. DO NOT PICK OR PULL as this can cause scarring or loss of color. - No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. - Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week. - Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. - Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. - Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. - Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days. - Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. - Keep your face/procedure area out of the shower as much as possible. - Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. - Avoid wearing make up on and around the area for 2 weeks. - Book initial top up with in 6-8 weeks of procedure.
