WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

  • Skin may feel calm, hydrated, and comfortable immediately after treatment
  • Some clients experience mild sensitivity or light breakouts as congestion and impurities surface — this is temporary and part of the skin’s rebalancing process

FIRST 24 HOURS

Please Avoid:

  • Touching or rubbing the face
  • Makeup or fragranced skincare products
  • Strong sunlight or UV exposure
  • Heat-based treatments (sauna, steam room, hot yoga, sunbeds)
  • Smoking and alcohol, which can impair skin healing

FIRST 48 HOURS

Please avoid:

  • Exfoliating products or tools
  • Active or anti-ageing skincare, including retinol, retinoids, steroid creams, AHAs, and BHAs

Focus on gentle cleansing, barrier-supporting moisturisers, and daily SPF.

SUPPORTING YOUR SKIN FROM WITHIN

  • Drink plenty of water to support hydration and help the skin rebalance
  • Maintain a simple, nourishing skincare routine while the barrier recovers

WHEN TO CONTACT ME

Please get in touch if you experience:

  • Persistent irritation or discomfort
  • A reaction that feels unusual or worsening
  • Any concerns about your skin’s response to treatment

I am always here to support your skin.

OPTIMISING YOUR RESULTS

  • Barrier repair facials work best when combined with consistent homecare
  • Avoid over-exfoliation between treatments
  • Daily SPF use helps protect the skin barrier
  • Regular treatments can support long-term skin resilience, particularly for sensitive, compromised, or midlife skin

If you need product guidance or support between appointments, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

• Mild redness, warmth, tightness, or sensitivity for 24–72 hours is normal • Light flaking or peeling may occur between days 2–7, depending on the type and strength of peel used • Skin may feel dry, tight, or slightly itchy as it renews

THE FIRST 24-48 HOURS

After your peel, I will apply a moisturiser and an SPF so your skin feels comfortable.

Please avoid:

• Touching, picking, or exfoliating the skin • Wearing makeup • Exercise, sweating, or hot yoga • Saunas, steam rooms, or hot showers directly on the face • Swimming • Sun exposure • Active skincare (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) • Fake tan or sunbeds

AFTER 24-48 HOURS (depending on how your skin feels)

You may begin to use: • A gentle, non-foaming cleanser • A soothing, barrier-supporting moisturiser • Broad-spectrum SPF

Avoid scrubs, exfoliating tools, fragranced products, and all active ingredients during this phase.

PEELING PHASE (Days 2–7) – this does not happen for everyone

• Allow skin to shed naturally — do not pick or peel any flaking skin • Keep the skin well hydrated using the recommended moisturiser • Avoid facial treatments, waxing, threading, or dermaplaning • Mineral makeup may be used sparingly if the skin is comfortable

AFTER 5-7 DAYS

If your skin feels calm and settled, you may reintroduce: • Vitamin C (if previously tolerated) • Light active ingredients suitable for your skin type

Avoid retinol for at least 7 days, or longer if advised.

AFTER 7-10 DAYS

You may gradually return to your normal skincare routine unless a personalised treatment plan has been provided. Continue to protect your skin with daily SPF 30–50, reapplying as needed.

WHEN TO CONTACT ME

Please get in touch if you experience: • Excessive redness lasting longer than 72 hours • Severe swelling or discomfort • Signs of infection (increasing heat, yellow crusting, pain) • Darkening of the skin or unusual pigmentation changes • A rash, hives, or any reaction that feels out of the ordinary

I am always here to support your healing.

OPTIMISING YOUR RESULTS

• Chemical peel results improve with consistency • Most clients benefit from a course of treatments, spaced according to peel type and skin goals • Strict sun protection and recommended homecare are essential to prevent pigmentation and maximise results

If you need guidance, reassurance, or product advice between appointments, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
