You may have the following reactions after treatment, these are normal and shouldn’t last longer than 24 hours. - Tiredness - Dehydration - Sore or achy muscles - Increase in urination - Bruising (sports massage requires a deeper pressure and has a trigger point technique) - Heightened emotions - Cold like symptoms (stuffy, blocked or runny nose) - Sounder sleep
It is important to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and remove toxins from the body. Try to avoid alcohol, caffeine, fizzy drinks and cigarettes after treatment as they can dehydrate the body. Massage aims to detoxify the body Take care if driving, you may feel relaxed, dizzy or tired after treatment. Rest and relax to allow the body to heal and benefit from the treatment. Avoid strenuous activity and exercise for the next 24 hours to help relax and distress the body. Apply heat or ice to any tender areas Stretch, stretch and stretch again!
