- Do not use your nails as tools. - Use cuticle oil twice a day everyday (my faves are solar oil & dadi oil). Solar oil is available to purchase. - Always wear gloves when washing up and using household detergents. - Avoid long periods of time in water. - Avoid hotbaths and soaking hands in hot water for at least 24 hours. - When on holiday make sure you wash off sun cream & insect repellent off of your nails as this can break down your gels. - Dry your hands and nails after swimming and before sunbathing as this can cause some discolouration and colours to fade. - Do not pick or peel off your gel. - Have your gel polish removed professionally or be sure to soak them with acetone.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and to help expel toxins. - Avoid Alcohol and caffeine as these dehydrate the body and won't help eliminate toxins. - Avoid doing anything too strenuous for the rest of the day. - Dry body brush once to twice a week- this exfoliates the skin, eliminates toxins, helps breakdown cellulite, increases circulation and stimulates the lymphatic system. It's recommended to have massage every 3-4 weeks.
- Wear clean, loose clothing after your appointment. - No hot baths or showers after your appointment (lukewarm only) for 12-24 hours. - No tanning, saunas, massage or steam treatments for 12-24 hours. - Exfoliate the night before your treatment for prep and then continue to exfoliate every 2-3 days after your wax treatment to help prevent ingrown hairs. (Folisan ingrown hair treatment available to purchase). - No shaving in between appointments. - Wax appointments should be every 4-6 weeks for best results.
