Facial Treatments

Benefits of Having Regular Facial Treatments

  • Deep cleansing – removes oil, makeup and impurities from deep within the pores, helping to prevent blackheads and breakouts.
  • Gentle exfoliation – lifts away dead skin cells so skin looks smoother, brighter and more even in tone.
  • Boosted hydration – professional masks and serums help to plump and soften the skin.
  • Improved circulation – massage increases blood flow, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the skin for a healthy glow.
  • Anti‑ageing support – helps to soften fine lines, support collagen and improve skin elasticity over time.
  • Targeted treatment – products and techniques are chosen for your specific skin type and concerns.
  • Relaxation and wellbeing – time out to de‑stress, which can also benefit overall skin health.

Short-Term Aftercare

(First 24–72 hours after your facial)

Your skin may be slightly pink, warm or sensitive – this is normal.

Do:

  • Keep the skin clean and hydrated – use a gentle, non‑foaming cleanser and soothing moisturiser.
  • Drink plenty of water to support detoxification and maintain your glow.
  • Use SPF 30+ every morning, even in the UK, to protect your fresh skin from UV damage.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid letting hair products sit on your face.
  • Pat your skin dry with a clean, soft towel – no rubbing.

Avoid:

  • Touching, picking or squeezing the skin – this can cause irritation or scarring.
  • Heavy makeup for at least 24 hours (especially after extractions or deeper treatments).
  • Exfoliating products (scrubs, acids, retinol, peels) for 3–7 days depending on sensitivity.
  • Saunas, steam rooms, very hot baths, gym/heat and sweating for 24–48 hours.
  • Sunbeds and direct sun exposure; if you must be outside, wear SPF, a hat and seek shade.
  • Strong fragranced or alcohol‑based products on the face.

Long-Term Aftercare

(Keeping your results between treatments)

  • Book regular facials – usually every 4–6 weeks, or as advised by your therapist.
  • Maintain a consistent homecare routine using products suited to your skin type.
  • Protect your skin daily with SPF 30+ to help prevent premature ageing and pigmentation.
  • Support your skin from the inside with a balanced diet, plenty of water and good sleep.
  • Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol, which can dehydrate and dull the skin.
  • Gently manage stress with relaxation, exercise, or mindfulness – stress can trigger breakouts and sensitivity.
  • Review your products regularly with your therapist so your routine can be adjusted as your skin changes.

A good daily skin routine

Use products recommended for your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, acne‑prone, mature).

Morning:

  1. Cleanser – gentle gel, milk or cream to remove oils and sweat.
  2. Toner or mist (optional) – alcohol‑free, to refresh and rebalance.
  3. Serum – e.g. hydrating (hyaluronic acid) or brightening, if advised.
  4. Moisturiser – to hydrate and protect the skin barrier.
  5. SPF 30+ broad‑spectrum – last step every morning, all year round.

Evening:

  1. Cleanser – remove makeup/SPF and daily pollution (double‑cleanse if needed).
  2. Second gentle cleanse (or one thorough cleanse if not wearing makeup).
  3. Toner or mist (optional).
  4. Targeted serum – e.g. calming, anti‑ageing or blemish control, as recommended.
  5. Moisturiser or night cream – to nourish and repair overnight.

1–2 times per week (NOT directly after your facial):

  • Exfoliation – gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant if suitable for your skin; avoid over‑exfoliating.
  • Face mask – hydrating, purifying or soothing mask depending on your needs.

Contra-actions (When to Seek Advice)

  • If redness, heat or sensitivity gets worse instead of improving.
  • If you notice swelling, intense itching, a rash or blisters.
  • If you are unsure whether a product or step is suitable for your skin.

Always follow the personalised advice given by your therapist, especially if you have sensitive, acne‑prone, or medically treated skin.

Aftercare Advice for Pedicure

· Avoid wearing tight shoes and opt for open-toed footwear for the first 24 hours to prevent smudging polish.

· Let polish dry fully before any vigorous activity.

· Dry your feet thoroughly after bathing, especially between the toes, to prevent infection.

Homecare Advice for Pedicure

Tinting Treatments

Benefits of Tinting Treatments

  • Defined appearance: Enhances the natural shape and color of brows and lashes.
  • Saves time: Reduces the need for daily mascara or brow pencils.
  • Long-lasting: Provides a semi-permanent tint that typically lasts several weeks.
  • Water-resistant: Ideal for holidays or swimming, as the color will not run.

Short-Term Aftercare

(First 24–48 hours after your treatment)

It is normal for the color to appear slightly darker or more intense immediately after the application; this will settle as the hair is washed.

Do:

  • Keep dry: Avoid getting water on your brows or lashes for the first 24 hours to allow the tint to fully stabilize.
  • Handle with care: Be very gentle when washing your face; pat the eye area dry rather than rubbing.
  • Sleep carefully: Try to sleep on your back for the first night to avoid pressing your face into the pillow.

Avoid:

  • Steam and heat: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers.
  • Eye makeup: Skip mascara or brow products for at least 24 hours to let the tint set.
  • Oil-based products: Avoid using oil-based cleansers or makeup removers, as these can strip the tint prematurely.
  • Sun exposure: Direct sunlight or sunbeds can cause the tint to fade faster.
  • Touching: Avoid rubbing or picking at your eyes and brows.

Long-Term Aftercare

(Keeping your results between treatments)

  • Gentle cleansing: Use oil-free, gentle cleansers to prolong the life of the color.
  • Protect the area: Use SPF around the eye area (being careful not to get it in the eyes) to prevent UV fading.
  • Avoid strong chemicals: Chlorinated water and harsh facial peels can cause the tint to lift sooner.

Recommended Time Intervals for Tinting

  • Brow & Lash Tinting: Rebook every 4–6 weeks to maintain depth of color and definition.

Contra-actions (When to Seek Advice)

  • Allergic Reaction: Be aware of redness, swelling, or intense itching, as these may indicate a delayed reaction to the dye.
  • Eye Irritation: Report any unusual stinging, burning, or blistering immediately.
  • Persistent Redness: Seek medical advice if symptoms or sensitivity get worse instead of improving.

Waxing Treatments

Benefits of Regular Waxing

  • Smoother results: Removes hair from the root, leaving skin smoother for longer than shaving.
  • Thinner regrowth: Hair often grows back finer and softer over time.
  • Exfoliation: The process lifts away dead skin cells, helping to brighten the skin.
  • Reduced irritation: Less frequent hair removal means less chance of daily razor burn or nicks.

Short-Term Aftercare

(First 24–48 hours after your treatment) Your skin may show small red bumps or feel slightly sensitive—this is a normal reaction as the hair has been removed from the follicle.

Do:

  • Wear loose clothing: Opt for breathable fabrics like cotton to avoid friction and irritation.
  • Keep it clean: Gently wash the area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
  • Apply soothing gel: Use pure Aloe Vera or a post-wax calming lotion to reduce redness.
  • Stay cool: Take lukewarm showers rather than hot baths.

Avoid:

  • Heat and moisture: Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and swimming pools.
  • Exercise: Avoid vigorous activity or gym sessions that cause excessive sweating.
  • Sun exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid sunbeds to prevent hyperpigmentation.
  • Self-tanning: Do not apply tanning products for at least 48 hours.
  • Fragrances: Avoid scented body lotions, deodorants (if waxing underarms), or alcohol-based sprays.
  • Touching: Keep hands away from the treated area to prevent bacteria from entering open follicles.

Long-Term Aftercare

(Keeping your results between treatments)

  • Exfoliate regularly: Starting 3 days after your wax, exfoliate 2–3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Moisturise daily: Keep the skin supple so hair can break through the surface easily.
  • Do not shave: Shaving between appointments toughens the hair and disrupts the growth cycle.
  • Book consistently: Maintain a schedule of every 4–6 weeks for the most effective results.

Recommended Time Intervals for Waxing

  • Facial Waxing: Every 3–4 weeks depending on the speed of hair regrowth.

Contra-actions (When to Seek Advice)

  • Persistent Redness: If heat or redness does not subside after 48 hours.
  • Signs of Infection: If you notice pus, extreme swelling, or yellow crusting.
  • Allergic Reaction: Report any intense itching, hives, or blistering immediately.
  • Tearing: If the skin appears broken or excessively bruised, contact your therapist.
