Proper aftercare is essential to maintain the longevity, appearance, and health of your hair extensions and natural hair. Please follow the guidelines below to keep your extensions looking flawless.
Washing & Conditioning
- Wait 24–48 hours after installation before washing.
- Use sulfate-free and alcohol-free shampoo and conditioner. Any that is hydrating and moisturising is best!
- Wash gently in a downward motion—do not scrub or tangle the extensions.
- Focus shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on mid-lengths to ends only.
- Avoid applying conditioner directly to bonds, tapes, or attachment points.
Drying & Styling
- Always ensure your extensions are completely dry before sleeping or styling.
- Use a heat protectant before any heat styling.
- Keep heat tools below180°C unless advised otherwise.
- Avoid direct heat on bonds, tapes, or beads.
- Limit excessive heat to prolong the lifespan of your extensions. (1/2 times a week)
Brushing & Daily Care
- Use a soft bristle or extension-safe brush.
- Brush gently 2–3 times daily, starting from the ends and working upward.
- Hold the roots while brushing near attachment points to reduce tension.
- Avoid excessive pulling, tugging, or tight hairstyles.
Sleeping
- Never sleep with wet hair.
- Braid or tie hair into a loose pony or braid before bed.
- Use a silk or satin pillowcase or bonnet to reduce friction and frizz.
- Oil your extensions before you go to sleep
Products to Avoid
- Oils, serums, or heavy products near attachment points
- Alcohol-based or bonding/repairing products
- Clarifying shampoos unless instructed by your stylist
- Excessive dry shampoo at the roots
Swimming & Activities
- Tie hair back or braid before swimming.
- Avoid saltwater and chlorine when possible.
- Rinse hair immediately after swimming and apply a light leave-in conditioner to the ends.
Maintenance & Appointments
- Attend recommended maintenance or move-up appointments every 6-8 weeks.
- Do not attempt to remove or adjust extensions yourself.
- Contact your us immediately if you experience slipping, discomfort, or matting.
General Care
- Treat your extensions as you would delicate hair.
- Proper aftercare helps maintain shine, softness, and overall longevity.
