BOTOX
Your final result will be 14 days from your treatment. Botox starts to relax your muscles approximately 5 days after treatment but light facial expressions such as frowning, smiling and raising your eyebrows can help to show up results sooner.
You can book a review 14 days after your treatment. It is recommended to have a review no later than 4 weeks after your treatment. There is a charge of £30 if additional Botox is required.
A Botox treatment is an injectable treatment, therefore whilst every precaution is taken to minimise any side effect swelling, bruising, redness and slight bumps immediately after treatment are completely normal. You may even experience a headache, all side effects can be treated with Paracetamol if needed. You can use a cold pack to reduce any swelling if you feel you need to.
To minimise bruising, avoid alcohol and blood thinning medication including Aspirin and Ibrupofen for 24 hours prior to treatment.
Make up should be avoided for 24 hours after your treatment to avoid infection and prevent the product moving to other muscles.
Do not touch or rub the treatment area for 24 hours post treatment, this is to prevent the product from moving to other muscles.
Stay out of the sun and any intense heat including sauna, steam baths and hot tubs.
Avoid exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment, this is because of the increased blood flow, increased body temperature and sweating which can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment and cause the Botox to spread to other muscles.
