Gel Polish Nail Service – Terms & Conditions
By booking and receiving a gel polish nail service at Slater and Moss Nail Studio, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Client Consultation & Health Disclosure
- Clients must disclose prior to treatment any medical conditions, allergies, skin sensitivities, nail disorders, or pregnancy.
- Services will not be carried out on nails or surrounding skin showing signs of infection, fungal conditions, open wounds, or severe damage.
- Slater and Moss Nail Studio reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a service if it is deemed unsafe or unsuitable.
2. Service Standards
- All services are provided with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- The appearance and longevity of gel polish depend on the natural condition of the nails, lifestyle factors, and aftercare.
- Gel polish is not guaranteed to last a specific length of time.
3. Aftercare Responsibility
- Clients are responsible for following aftercare advice provided by their nail technician.
- Slater and Moss Nail Studio is not responsible for premature chipping, lifting, or wear caused by:
- Picking, peeling, or biting
- Impact or trauma to the nails
- Exposure to harsh chemicals without protective gloves
- Failure to follow aftercare guidance
4. Gel Polish Removal
- Gel polish should be removed professionally.
- Slater and Moss Nail Studio is not responsible for damage caused by self-removal or removal by another service provider.
5. Allergic Reactions & Patch Testing
- Allergic reactions to nail products are rare but possible.
- Products used are: The Gel Bottle Inc, Rituals, Molton Brown and Hona. Please read ingredient lists for brands shown and inform of any allergies to a specific product before treatment starts.
- Note The Gel Bottle Inc products used all contain HEMA. Any reactions to that ingredient will result in me unable/ reserve the right to cancel up-coming treatments. No HEMA free products in my range currently.
- Clients with known sensitivities or concerns should request a patch test at least 24–48 hours before their appointment.
- Slater and Moss Nail Studio cannot be held liable for reactions where relevant information was not disclosed prior to treatment.
6. Satisfaction, Complaints & Remedies
- Any concerns must be reported within 48 hours of the appointment.
- If a service is found not to have been carried out with reasonable care and skill, Slater and Moss Nail Studio will offer:
- A correction, or
- A partial or full refund, where appropriate
- No refunds will be issued for issues arising from normal wear and tear or failure to follow aftercare advice.
7. Appointments, Cancellations & Late Arrivals
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Late arrivals may result in reduced service time or cancellation.
- Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to a 50% charge in line with our booking policy.
8. Personal Belongings
- Clients are responsible for their personal belongings.
- Slater and Moss Nail Studio accepts no liability for loss or damage unless caused by negligence.
9. Consent
- By proceeding with the service, clients confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and consent to the treatment being carried out.
