Universal Laser Aftercare Instructions
Proper aftercare is essential to achieve the best possible results and reduce the risk of complications. Please follow these instructions carefully.
Immediately After Treatment
Redness, warmth, mild swelling and tenderness are normal.
Apply cool compresses for 10–15 minutes if required.
Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily.
Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours (or longer if advised).
Skin Care
Wash the area gently with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.
Pat dry with a clean towel.
Apply a gentle moisturiser as recommended by your practitioner.
For ablative treatments such as CO₂ Laser, apply Vaseline (petroleum jelly) as instructed until the skin has healed.
Sun Protection
Wear SPF 50+ every day.
Reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 4–8 weeks, depending on your treatment.
Wear protective clothing and a hat whenever possible.
Avoid Until Healed
Swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms.
Excessive exercise and sweating for 48–72 hours.
Picking, scratching or peeling the skin.
Waxing, exfoliation, retinol, acids (AHA/BHA), vitamin C and other active skincare until advised.
Fake tan until the skin has completely healed.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water.
Eat a healthy diet to support healing.
Normal Reactions
You may experience:
Redness
Mild swelling
Tenderness
Dryness
Tightness
Itching
Temporary darkening or lightening of the skin
Mild bruising (especially after Rejuva Lift)
Flaking or peeling (particularly after CO₂ Laser)
These reactions usually settle within days to several weeks depending on the treatment.
Contact Your Practitioner Immediately If You Experience
Severe or increasing pain.
Excessive swelling.
Increasing redness after the first few days.
Yellow discharge or pus.
Fever or feeling unwell.
Blistering.
Cold sore outbreak.
Persistent pigmentation changes.
Any symptoms that concern you.
Treatment-Specific Advice
CO₂ Fractional Laser
Apply Vaseline as directed.
Do not pick scabs.
Healing usually takes 5–10 days, with redness gradually fading over several weeks.
Rejuva Lift (1470 nm Laser)
Wear your compression garment if advised.
Mild swelling, bruising and tenderness are expected.
Avoid strenuous exercise for one week.
Laser Hair Removal
Avoid hot showers for 24 hours.
Do not wax or pluck hairs between sessions (shaving is permitted).
Hair shedding usually begins within 1–3 weeks.
IPL / Pigmentation Treatments
Pigmented lesions may temporarily darken before naturally flaking away.
Avoid picking the treated areas.
Carbon Peel
Avoid active skincare products for 48 hours.
Continue daily SPF 50+.
Tattoo Removal
Keep the area clean and dry.
Do not burst any blisters.
Apply the recommended healing ointment if advised.
