Aftercare is vital for any beauty treatment, and brow lamination is no different. Neglecting aftercare could lead to brittle, dry, and unmanageable brows, while diligent care ensures that your brows remain healthy and maintain their new shape for as long as possible.
The initial 48 hours following your treatment are the most important. During this time, your brows are still setting into their new shape, and any disturbance could potentially impact the results. Here's what you need to do to ensure optimal results: Do's Keep Your Brows Dry: Avoid getting your brows wet for at least 24 hours. This includes washing your face, swimming, or any activity that involves excessive sweating. This allows the lamination solution to set and the conditioning serum to do its work. Sleep on Your Back: Try to sleep on your back to prevent rubbing or applying pressure on your brows, which could disturb the lamination process. Gently Brush Your Brows: Using a clean mascara wand, gently brush your brows upwards once or twice during the first 48 hours. This helps maintain their newly acquired shape. Don'ts Avoid Makeup: Steer clear of any makeup, especially brow makeup, for at least 24 hours. This prevents potential damage to the freshly laminated brows. No Harsh Products: Refrain from using strong cleansers, exfoliants, or products containing alcohol during the first 48 hours. These can interfere with the lamination process and cause premature fading. No Excessive Heat: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sunlight exposure for the first couple of days. Heat can interfere with the lamination process and affect the results.
Maintaining your brow shape post-lamination is key to prolonging the results. Here are some essential tips for brow maintenance: Daily Care Brush Daily: Just like you brush your hair daily, your brows need the same attention. Use a clean mascara wand to brush your brows daily in an upward direction. This helps maintain the sculpted appearance. Avoid Harsh Products: Harsh products like alcohol based products, soap based cleansers & exfoliants with rough particles might strip away the protective layer formed by the lamination process. Opt for gentle, sulfate-free cleansers when washing your face.
Just as your hair needs conditioning after a shampoo, your brows need conditioning after lamination. A nourishing brow serum or oil, like castor oil or argan oil, will keep your brows healthy, hydrated, and shiny. For best results, condition your brows every day, especially during the first week after lamination.
