Every body and energy system responds differently, but after your treatment you may notice:
- Deep relaxation or sleepiness
- Increased energy or mental clarity
- Emotional release (tearfulness, vivid dreams, heightened awareness)
- Mild headache or slight tenderness (especially after massage or reflexology)
- Tingling, warmth or subtle energy shifts
- Increased thirst
- More frequent urination as your body processes and releases
These responses are completely normal and usually settle within 24โ48 hours. Your body is recalibrating and integrating the work.
๐ง Hydrate Well
Drink plenty of water for the next 24 hours. This helps:
- Flush metabolic waste released during massage or reflexology
- Support lymphatic drainage
- Assist energetic integration after Reiki or tuning forks
Herbal teas are also wonderful. Try chamomile, peppermint or nettle.
๐ Rest & Integrate
If possible:
- Avoid strenuous exercise for the rest of the day
- Give yourself quiet time
- Go to bed a little earlier
- Journal any thoughts, insights or dreams
Your nervous system has shifted into a calmer state โ allow it to settle gently.
๐ Nourish Gently
Choose light, nourishing foods where possible.
Avoid excess alcohol or heavy meals for 24 hours, especially after aromatherapy or deep massage.
๐ฅ Emotional Release
Energy work and bodywork can unlock stored emotions. If feelings surface:
- Breathe slowly and deeply
- Be kind to yourself
- Allow emotions to move without judgement
This is part of your healing process.
๐ธ Essential Oil Aftercare (If You Received Aromatherapy)
The oils continue working after your session.
- Leave oils on the skin for several hours
- Avoid very hot showers immediately after treatment
- If sensitivity occurs, gently wash with warm water and mild soap
