Aftercare Advice for Hair Coloring and Cutting Wait Before Washing I recommend waiting at least 48 hours after coloring before washing your hair to allow the color to set properly. When you do wash, use lukewarm water instead of hot water to prevent fading. Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo & Conditioner To maintain your color’s vibrancy, choose a color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. I suggest washing your hair 2-3 times a week to prevent stripping the color too quickly. Deep Conditioning & Hydration Colored hair needs extra moisture! Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week, and apply a leave-in conditioner or hair oil to keep your hair hydrated and prevent dryness and split ends. Protect from Heat Limit heat styling to avoid further damage, and always apply a heat protectant spray before using hot tools. When blow-drying, curling, or straightening, try to use a lower heat setting. Avoid Chlorine & Sun Exposure To prevent fading, wear a hat or use a UV protection spray when you’re out in the sun. If you swim in a pool, rinse your hair with clean water before and after to reduce chlorine damage. Regular Trims To keep your haircut looking fresh and the ends healthy, I recommend scheduling a trim every 6-8 weeks. Refresh Your Color In between appointments, you can use a color-depositing mask or gloss treatment to keep your tone fresh. If needed, consider booking a toner or gloss appointment after 4-6 weeks to refresh your color.
