Massage Aftercare

You may experience the following reactions after your massage. These are beneficial to your body but can be unpleasant for a short period. These reactions will diminish over time. * Aching and soreness of the muscle – this is due to the release of toxins and the body’s nerves responding to the deep massage work * Fatigue/Tiredness – caused by the release of toxins – once you have rested, you should feel energetic and refreshed * Increased urination/peristalsis (due to the body releasing toxins) * Heightened emotions – this is due to the release of tension For best results post massage treatment, please read the following aftercare guidelines. * Increase water intake following a treatment to assist the body’s detoxification process * Eat a light & healthy diet to assist the detoxification & healing process. * Cut down on consumption of stimulants (e.g. alcohol/coffee/tea) * Have a suitable rest period after the treatment * Have a warm bath to further relax and soothe the muscles * If you have a stressful life it may be helpful to obtain information about methods of stress management, as well as lifestyle changes. Other symptoms up to 24-48 hours after massage treatment: * Headaches * Dizziness or Nausea * Disrupted Sleep * Increased release of mucus in the nose or mouth These symptoms are normal and show that toxins have been expelled and the body is rebalancing. However, if symptoms are persistent after 48 hours, please seek medical advice. If you experience severe discomfort, such as extreme swelling, pain, itching and/or irritation - please seek advice from your GP.


Waxing/Vajacial Aftercare

Please note: slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax.  You can apply antiseptic cream, aloe vera gel and/or ice to the treated area following your treatment to help alleviate these. Always wash your hands before applying any product. Please follow the after treatment guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly. * Avoid hot baths or showers for 24 hours * Avoid sunbeds for 24 - 48 hours * Wear loose-fitting clothes immediately after treatment to prevent friction/irritation * Avoid using fragranced or perfumed products on waxed areas * Avoid scratching/touching the treated area with unwashed hands * Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotion, perfumed products or other products to the treated area for up to 72 hours * For long-term improvements, we recommend regular treatments (every 4-6 weeks). You may notice a small amount of re-growth after approximately 1 week. It can take up to four treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives the best results * Hair must be at least 5mm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing so avoid shaving between treatments * For in-growing hairs, use an exfoliator (after 48 hours) * If the area feels mildly irritated, seek advice from a pharmacist to help ease any discomfort. * If you experience severe discomfort, such as extreme swelling, pain, itching, discharge, or strong odours, seek advice from your GP * If irritation lasts longer than 24-48 hours, seek advice from your GP * If you experience severe discomfort, such as extreme swelling, pain, or itching, seek advice from your GP
