Aftercare Advice

To keep your manicure looking its best and to ensure the longevity of your nails, please follow these simple aftercare tips:

Wear Gloves: Protect your manicure by wearing gloves whenever you are cleaning, doing dishes, gardening, or engaging in any activity that involves prolonged contact with water or harsh chemicals.

Be Gentle: Treat your nails with kindness! Avoid using them to pick, peel, open cans or scratch at things. This can lift or damage the product.

Limit Water Exposure: While it's impossible to avoid water completely, try to limit prolonged soaking. Excessive water can cause the natural nail to expand and contract, potentially weakening the adhesion of your manicure.

Avoid Long Baths and Saunas: Extended time in hot, steamy environments like long baths, saunas, and steam rooms can affect the longevity of your manicure.

Sunbed Caution: Be mindful that UV exposure from sunbeds can sometimes affect the color or integrity of certain nail products.

Moisturise Regularly: Keep your cuticles and surrounding skin hydrated by using a cuticle oil or a nourishing hand cream daily. This helps to keep your nails nourished and healthy.

Be Mindful of Products: Some harsh chemicals in household cleaners or hair products can dull or damage your manicure. Wear gloves and be cautious when using these.

Book Regular Maintenance Appointments: To keep your nails looking flawless and to ensure proper maintenance, schedule your infill or reapplication appointments as recommended (usually every 3-4 weeks).

One-off appointments & at-home removals: If you have attended for a one-off appointment and do not book back in for a professional removal, your builder gel/gel can be safely removed at home by following the steps below.

Gently file the product using a nail file until the shiny top coat has been removed. Soak cotton pads in 100% acetone, place one on each nail, and secure with foil or nail clips if you have them. Leave to soak for 10–15 minutes.

Once soaked, use a cuticle pusher to gently ease the product away from the nail — do not force or scrape if it is not lifting easily. If needed, re-wrap and soak for a little longer.

After removal, moisturise the hands and apply cuticle oil to help nourish and rehydrate the natural nail.
