Hair Extensions Aftercare Guide: Congratulations on your new hair extensions! To keep them looking flawless and long-lasting, follow this aftercare guide carefully. Daily Care ✅ Brush Gently – Use a soft bristle or loop brush, starting from the ends and working your way up. Hold the roots to avoid tension. ✅ Separate Bonds/Wefts – Run your fingers through the bonds or wefts daily to prevent matting or tangling. ✅ Avoid Excessive Touching – Too much handling can loosen bonds or cause unnecessary shedding. Washing & Drying ✅ Wash 2–3 Times a Week – Use sulfate-free, extension-friendly shampoo & conditioner. ✅ Lather Gently – Apply shampoo in a downward motion; don’t scrub aggressively at the bonds/wefts. ✅ Condition Only the Mid-Lengths & Ends – Avoid applying conditioner or oils near the roots, as this can cause slippage. ✅ Pat Dry & Avoid Rubbing – Use a microfiber towel and gently squeeze out excess water. ✅ Always Dry the Roots – Never leave your extensions wet for long periods, especially at the scalp. Styling ✅ Use Heat Protection – Always apply a heat protectant before styling with hot tools. ✅ Limit Heat Usage – Keep styling tools below 180°C/350°F to prevent damage. ✅ Avoid Oils & Serums Near the Bonds – These can cause slipping and weaken the attachment. ✅ Sleep in a Loose Braid or Ponytail – This helps prevent tangling while sleeping. Do’s & Don’ts ✅ Do attend regular maintenance appointments (every 6-8 weeks). ✅ Do use gentle, extension-friendly hair products. ❌ Don’t go to bed with wet hair. ❌ Don’t tie your hair up too tightly—it can cause tension and damage. ❌ Don’t use products containing alcohol, sulfates, or parabens near the extensions. Swimming & Gym Care 🏊 Swimming – Always wear a swim cap or keep hair in a tight braid. Rinse hair immediately after swimming in chlorine or salt water. 💦 Sweating & Gym – Tie your hair in a loose braid or ponytail to prevent matting. Extension Removal & Maintenance Your extensions should only be removed by a professional to prevent damage. Book maintenance appointments every 6–8 weeks to keep them in the best condition.
