Hairdressing Aftercare Advice Thank you for visiting KLE Hair. To keep your hair looking its best, please follow our aftercare recommendations below. 1. General Hair Care Avoid washing your hair for at least 24 to 48 hours after your appointment, especially if you’ve had colour or a treatment. Use sulphate-free and silicone-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain hair health and prevent product build-up. Avoid products that contain silicones, as they can coat the hair shaft, block moisture, and dull the appearance of colour or treatment results. Limit use of heated tools (straighteners, curling tongs) and always apply a heat protection spray before styling. 2. After a Haircut Keep your cut looking sharp by using the right products recommended by your stylist. Book a trim every 6–8 weeks to maintain your style and prevent split ends. 3. After Hair Colouring Wait at least 48 hours before shampooing your hair to allow the colour to fully develop. Use colour-protecting, sulphate-free, and silicone-free products to maintain vibrancy and condition. Avoid chlorine in swimming pools or wear a swim cap, as it can strip or alter the colour. Protect your hair from sun exposure with UV protection sprays or by wearing a hat. 4. After a Keratin or Smoothing Treatment Refrain from washing, tying back, or tucking your hair behind your ears for 72 hours. Use sodium chloride–free, sulphate-free, and silicone-free products as recommended to maintain the effect of the treatment. Keep your hair dry during the no-wash period; use a shower cap when bathing. 5. After Bleaching or Lightening Your hair may be more delicate—avoid harsh brushing and apply deep conditioning masks at least once a week. Minimise use of heated tools and use strengthening treatments such as bond-repair products (e.g. Olaplex). A purple shampoo may be recommended to tone and maintain brightness between appointments. 6. Styling & Maintenance Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb, especially when hair is wet. Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce frizz and breakage.
