1. Oral Hygiene:
- Brush & Floss: Please brush and floss your teeth thoroughly before your appointment to ensure the best whitening results (ideally 1 hour before). Clean teeth allow the whitening gel to work more effectively.
2. Avoid Staining Foods/Drinks:
- 48 Hours Before: For optimal results, avoid foods and drinks that can stain your teeth (such as coffee, tea, red wine, curry, and berries) for at least 48 hours before your appointment.
- Smoking: Try to avoid smoking or using tobacco products 48 hours prior to your appointment, as they can also contribute to staining.
3. Sensitive Teeth or Gums:
- If you have sensitive teeth or gums, please let us know ahead of time. We offer treatments for individuals with sensitive teeth at a small additional fee.
4. Avoid Whitening Products:
- No At-Home Whitening: Please refrain from using at-home teeth whitening products, such as whitening strips, pastes, or gels, 3-5 days before your appointment. This ensures that your teeth are in their best condition to receive professional whitening.
5. No Eating or Drinking During Treatment:
- During the procedure, you won’t be able to eat or drink. It’s a good idea to have a meal or drink beforehand if needed.
6. Health Considerations:
- If you have any oral conditions such as cavities, gum disease or are pregnant, please inform us before your appointment, as certain treatments may need to be adjusted.
7. Teeth Condition:
- Recent Dental Work: If you've had recent dental work (fillings, crowns, etc.), please notify us, as whitening treatments may not affect these materials and we can discuss how to manage this.
8. Post-Treatment Care:
- After your whitening treatment, avoid consuming staining foods or drinks for at least 24-48 hours to ensure the best results. Also, avoid smoking during this period.
- You may experience slight tooth sensitivity after the procedure, but this should subside within 24-48 hours.
9. Arrive on Time:
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete any necessary forms and to discuss any questions or preferences you may have regarding the treatment.
