DO:
DON'T:
After 2-4 Weeks (Longer-Term Care)
Alcohol & Caffeine Time Frame: 24–48 hours Reason: Acts as a blood thinner and can increase bleeding, bruising, and sensitivity during the procedure.
Blood Thinners (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Omega supplements) Time Frame: 48 hours to 1 week Reason: Increases bleeding, which dilutes pigment and leads to poor results. Do not stop prescribed medication without consulting your doctor.
Intense Exercise / Sweating Time Frame: Day of procedure (at least 6 hours before) Reason: Increased blood flow and sweat (which contains salt) can push out the pigment.
Sun Exposure & Tanning Beds Time Frame: 2–4 weeks Reason: Sunburnt or tanned skin is damaged, making it difficult to implant pigment correctly and potentially affecting color matching.
Botox & Dermal Fillers Time Frame: 2–4 weeks around the brow area Reason: Injections need time to settle completely before the brow mapping process.
Skin Treatments (Peels, Microdermabrasion, Laser) Time Frame: 2–4 weeks Reason: These treatments irritate the skin and make it hypersensitive, compromising the skin barrier.
Retinol / Vitamin A & AHA/BHA Products Time Frame: 2–4 weeks Reason: Makes the skin thinner and more fragile, increasing the risk of bleeding and poor pigment retention.
Brow Shaping / Tinting Time Frame: 1–2 weeks Reason: Your technician needs to see your natural hair growth and color to design the best shape; shaping beforehand can agitate the skin.
