Most complications from eyelash extensions result from a skin reaction or allergy to the chemicals used in the glue adhesive. Symptoms you may experience include: stinging and burning in the eye and/or on the eyelid, swelling, red or bloodshot eyes, itching, pain, rash Aftercare Advice: - Avoid getting your eyelashes wet for 48 hours after application - The water will cause the eyelash bond to become brittle and break. After your treatment, follow a simple skincare routine. -For two weeks following your treatment, stick to a simple skincare routine. That means using a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum or face oil, and sunscreen every day. Avoid any other treatments or products that could irritate the skin. Use SPF - It’s important to use sunscreen after dermaplaning since your skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s harmful rays. Choose a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher and apply it every day, even if you’re just spending time indoors. Do not wear makeup for 24 hours - You’ll want to avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after dermaplaning. This will give your skin time to heal and recover from the treatment. Avoid touching your face - Touching your face can introduce bacteria to the skin and cause irritation. So, it’s best to avoid touching your face as much as possible after dermaplaning. Avoid using harsh skincare products - Harsh skincare products, such as retinoids or glycolic acids, can irritate the skin after dermaplaning. If you use these products, wait at least a day or two before using them again after your treatment. Avoid chlorine and swimming pools - Chlorinated water can dry out and irritate the skin. So, it’s best to avoid swimming in pools or other bodies of chlorinated water for at least 24 hours after dermaplaning. You can shower normally after your treatment. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated - Drinking plenty of water helps to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. This is especially important after dermaplaning since your skin will be more prone to dryness. Get plenty of rest and relaxation - Taking some time to relax and de-stress can do wonders for your skin. Consider taking a relaxing bath or reading a good book to help your skin recover from dermaplaning.
Following the correct aftercare will reduce risk of infection and scarring. If you have a dermalize roll or cling film over your tattoo, please remove this slowly within 1 to 5 hours after your session to let the skin breathe. This is only covered as protection to get you home. Day 1 - skin may feel tender, red and slightly sore. You may notice fluid coming from the skin this is plasma and is completely normal. You may also notice slight ink residue or the skin can feel slightly warm as it begins the healing process. Before you go to bed wash the tattoo gently with Luke warm water and fragrance fee soap. Apply gel/solution recommended by your artist. Day 2-3 - tattoo will appear duller or cloudier and scabs may appear to form. Once per day wash tattoo with fragrance free soap and then apply gel/solution recommended by your artist. Day 4-6 - redness should start to fade. Light scabbing may start but shouldn’t be picked as this can cause scarring and will pull the ink out. Day 6-14 - scabs should harden and begin to flake off. It is normal for your tattoo to feel itchy at this point, I would advise using fragrance and alcohol free moisturiser several times per day to relieve the itch. Try not to itch or pick. If your tattoo is still raised, red and oozing this could be a sign of an infection. Please seek medical advice. DO NOT: - Bathe, swim, saunas, sunbeds, exercise for at least 7-10 days - Use any products other than ones advised by your artist - Shave the area until all of the scabbing has come away - Shower getting the tattoo area completely wet.
