When did you first start your independent business and can you speak a bit about your journey to where you are now?
I started my independent business 6 years ago when we bought our first home and I decided to build a garden room salon. I had qualified in nails whilst pregnant with my eldest son almost 9 years ago and after a few stints in several salons, working mobile, continuous training and curating the most amazing client list, I finally feel content with the core values that my small business stands for.
What booking software were you using before Solo and why wasn’t it working for you?
Prior to Solo I was using Fresha for my online booking system. It was great for what I needed it to do at the time of opening my garden room but as time has pressed on the prices increased. With Solo I know exactly what I’m paying for each month and it’s so user friendly so my clients find it really easy to use.
How has Solo helped your business?
Solo has added value to my business by being able to offer clients an easy way to book in with myself whilst looking aesthetically pleasing in the process. It’s also really handy for me as the business owner as it keeps track of absolutely everything you could think of.
How does Solo make you feel about your business?
Solo helps me feel more confident that all aspects of my business are running smoothly. I can keep track of all my data allowing me to run my business efficiently.
What does Solo allow you to do that you couldn't do before?
With Solo clients are responsible for booking themselves in which enables me to be more present when I’ve finished the practical part of my job, which I definitely didn’t get before using Solo as I spent lots of my time responding to messages.
What would you say to other independent beauty professionals who are still using Fresha?
Solo is great - I would highly recommend it for any beauty professionals. It will really help you stand out above the rest. I’m so glad I made the move.
