Aftercare is SO important, not only to keep your nails looking perfect but also to prevent any lifting which could lead to bacterial infections. To keep your nails looking perfect please follow the aftercare provided below: • Use cuticle oil DAILY - twice ideally. This will stop your nails becoming dehydrated and lifting/curling away from your enhancements, it also prevents any dry bits of skin that you’re likely to pick by keeping your skin moisturised. (These can be purchased at your appointment) • Wear gloves when gardening, washing up or cleaning (super important if you have a job as a cleaner/hairdresser etc) • Avoid submerging them in water for long periods of time - especially in the first 24 hours. • Don’t glue any lifting nails back down or cut them using nail clippers while you have enhancements - this can cause fungal/bacterial infections if any moisture is trapped in between your nail and the enhancement. • Don’t pick them off, this will cause damage to your natural nails meaning your next set won’t last as long. • Wash your hands after applying moisturiser’s & sun creams - these can cause the gel to discolour/lift. • Book REGULAR maintenance appointments every 3-4 weeks. Most importantly your nails are JEWELS not TOOLS! Do not use your nails to open or pick things, this will cause chipping, breaking and lifting. After you leave your appointment, it is your responsibility to look after your nails to keep them looking as beautiful as possible!
Allergic reactions are uncommon but they need to be addressed immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms around your nails • Redness • Bumps/Hives • Itchyness • Swelling • Hot to touch • Any pain/soreness This is normally contained to the skin around your fingers but can also be seen on the hands, wrists, face, ears and neck. If you experience any of these reactions listed above please contact me ASAP. I will remove them and we can assess your nails with no further product being applied. Depending on the severity you might be advised to consult a doctor. Using any chemical can cause some individuals to react. I also stock a brand called HONA for anyone who requires a hypoallergenic treatment - they are HEMA free, HPMA free IBOA free, cruelty free and vegan! Hypoallergenic brands aren’t necessary for every client but the option is there if I or yourself feel it is better suited to your nails.
