What is waxing?

Waxing is the removal of the hair from the follicle using either a warm wax with strips or a hot wax that is peelable. 

How long does hair need to be?

There are 3 stages to the hair growth cycle, this means your hairs will grow at different rates.

At the Waxing Co. we recommend you leave at least 21 days since your last shave or hair removal cream use and at least 28 days since your last waxing treatment or epilation.

What is the difference between hot and strip wax? 

Hot wax is for dealing with sensitive skin and thicker hair, whilst strip wax is for less sensitive skin and thinner hair. At waxed we only use hot wax for our Brazillian and other intimate waxing, we believe this provides a more comfortable wax and grabs every last hair.

How often should I get a wax done?

 It depends on how fast your hair is growing but on average we would recommend a minimum of 4 weeks between waxes. Of course though how often you come is up to you, if you only wanting waxing for holidays and special occasions then we are here for you.

Will it hurt?   

Pain is very individual. Though being waxed should not be painful as such…yes it will be uncomfortable and each persons experience will be different. I personally feel having my legs done is more uncomfortable than having a braziliianor Hollywood again this is individual. The first time is the worst and does get easier. The worry of pain shouldn’t put you off as discomfort you do feel is very short lived and does not follow you out of the waxing room. At Waxed we only use hot wax for intimate areas which we feel is far superior and provides a much more comfortable wax in this area.

Can I get an intimate wax whilst on my period?

The decision is yours providing you are comfortable wearing a tampon or moon cup. We just ask that you tuck the string out of the way. Some ladies are more sensitive around their period and may feel more discomfort. If you prefer not to come on your period please book around this time.

Can I get an intimate wax if I am pregnant?

Of course, though like with your time of the month some ladies are more sensitive due to hormone fluctuations. We are happy to wax you right through our pregnancy till your big day.
