THE FIRST 24 HOURS • Minimize exposure to water for extended periods (e.g., swimming or long, hot baths). • Avoid excessive heat, such as saunas or sunbeds. DO: • Wear gloves when doing household chores, including dishwashing, cleaning, or gardening. • Be cautious with insect repellents, sun creams, and alcohol-based products, as they can cause the gel to lift prematurely. If contact occurs, cleanse the area immediately. Be particularly mindful of your daily moisturiser if it includes spf, wash hands throughly after application. • Keep your hands and nails hydrated by moisturising daily. Recommended products include the Bio Sculpture Almond Cuticle Oil or the Elim MD Cuticle Oil, this option is particularly beneficial for very dry, cracked or tender cuticles. These are great options for your nighttime routine. The MD is my personal go to. DON’T: • Avoid filing or reshaping your nails, as this can break the gel seal at the free edge and lead to lifting. • Refrain from pulling or picking at the gel, as this can weaken and thin the natural nail. AT HOME: • Apply cuticle oil daily to maintain hydration and nail health. • Use Vitamin Dose daily on the hyponychium to support strong, healthy nails. Available to purchase from The Nail Spa, the is a favourite of my own. • If gel is not being reapplied, consider purchasing an ETHOS Base treatment tailored to your nail type, which you can apply at home every 2-3 days. These are available to purchase from The Nail Spa.
Use the Elim Foot Perfector for two nights following treatment. Regular use of this nourishing foot cream will ensure optimal results. Options can be discussed following treatment. Best results from this treatment are as a result of regular maintenance of the skin on the feet. All products used in the treatment can be purchased from The Nail Spa and are excellent for at home maintenance particularly the AHA Exfoliator, the MD Cuticle Oil, Fungal Force (if treating) and last but definitely not least, the Elim Foot Perfector.
