Exfoliation is crucial in preventing ingrown hairs. However, once they appear, it's best to avoid further exfoliation as it can irritate the skin and impede the healing process. Instead, opt for products suitable for ingrown hairs, such as those containing salicylic acid, which can effectively address the issue without causing further irritation.
