Update Your GBP for the New Year

Objective

Make sure new and returning clients can easily find you on Google and book with confidence at the start of the New Year.

When clients search for beauty services near them, Google is often the first place they look.
Today’s task is to spend 15–20 minutes updating your Google Business Profile so your business shows up clearly, accurately, and professionally in the New Year.

1. Open your Google Business Profile

You can do this in either way:

  • On your phone or laptop, open Google and search your business name

  • Make sure you’re logged into the Google account connected to your business

Your Business Profile dashboard should appear at the top of the search results.

2. Add or update a recent photo

  • From your Business Profile, tap Add photo

  • Choose one of the following:

    • A recent client result

    • A clean photo of your workspace

    • A professional selfie

  • Upload the photo and publish

Fresh images help your profile look active and increase visibility in local searches.

3. Review and update your services

  • Tap Edit profile

  • Select Services

  • Check that:

    • All services you currently offer are listed

    • Service names are clear and client-friendly

    • Any outdated treatments are removed

Save your changes once complete.

4. Publish a short New Year update (optional but recommended)

  • From your Business Profile, tap Add update

  • Choose What’s new

  • Upload a photo (optional)

  • Write a short message, such as:

    • “January appointments are now open.”

    • “Now taking New Year bookings — book online.”

  • Add your Solo booking link

Then tap Publish.

5. Double-check your details

Before you finish, make sure your:

  • Opening hours

  • Phone number

  • Booking link
    are all correct and up to date.

These details appear directly in Google Search and Maps.
