The treatment begins with a lovely foot massage. This is relaxing for the client and also provides the therapist with an opportunity to feel the feet to locate areas of tension and imbalance.
After this, the reflexologist uses a thumb-walking technique to press areas of the feet in order to stimulate nerves in the skin. There are 7000 nerve endings on the feet, and by pressing on these, nerve signals are sent all around the body.
