Aftercare for nail enhancements

As discussed in the the treatment, there are steps you can take at home to extend the life of your nail enhancements. Nails are not indestructible and are a 50/50 split responsibility for both the professional and the client. These steps are guidelines for you: • Maintain your nails by seeing your professional every 3-4.5 weeks or booking for a professional removal • Wearing gloves while using any strong chemicals (and if washing up frequently) • Frequent cuticle oiling • Not making any changes to your enhancement at home. Such as: removing length by clippers or filing (filing a chip down is acceptable) • Avoid picking nails and skin Most importantly nails are JEWELS not TOOLS! Do not use your nails too open, pick or anything else manually - this is the easiest way to damage them. Any professional will be able to see signs of damage my picking enhancements

Signs of allergic reaction

Allergic reactions are not common but they still need to be respected and the signs need to be understood. Using any chemical can cause some individuals to react. I use a brand called HONA who I have chosen due to their chemical make up - they are hypoallergenic and are HEMA free, HPMA free IBOA free, cruelty free and vegan! Why do allergies happen: They occur when the body’s immune system overacts to certain allergens. Typical allergies in gel present on skin as: • Red • Bumpy • Scaly • Itchy • Swollen This is normally contained to the finger area on the skin but can also be seen on the hands, wrists, face and neck. If you experience any of these reactions listed above please contact me ASAP. I will remove them and we can assess the nails. We would not apply any further enhancement to your nails. Depending on the severity you might be advices to consult a doctor. Gel reactions can be lifelong so please do not take these signs lightly
