Proper spray tan aftercare ensures a flawless, streak-free, and long-lasting glow.
The First 24 Hours: Development Phase
- Wait to get wet: Avoid swimming, bathing, saunas, or sweating (no vigorous exercise) until after your first rinse.
- Wear loose clothing: Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and avoid restrictive bands (like bras or tight socks) to prevent streaks while the formula develops.
- Avoid water splashes: Even washing hands or doing dishes can cause water streaks; be mindful of splashing water.
The First Shower: Rinsing
- Lukewarm water only: When your development time is up, take a quick shower with lukewarm water.
- Remove the guide bronzer: Let the water run until it clears. Avoid scrubbing your skin.
- Pat dry: Gently pat yourself dry with a soft towel instead of rubbing, which can prematurely strip the top layer of your skin.
Daily Maintenance: Extending Your Glow
- Moisturise daily: Apply an oil-free moisturiser every day. (Ingredients like hyaluronic acid keep your skin deeply hydrated).
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Stay away from products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Glycolic acid, or harsh bar soaps, as these will strip your tan.
- Gentle washing: Use mild, pH-balanced body washes.
- Protect your tan: Chlorine and long salt-water soaks break down the tan, so avoid excessive swimming or soaking in hot tubs.
- Don't exfoliate early: Skip all exfoliants and loofahs until you are ready to remove your tan entirely for your next appointment.
