The Cocoon Room is a luxury home-based Japanese Head Spa in Bedfordshire, designed for women who need more than just a treatment, they need a full nervous system reset.
Based in Great Barford, near Bedford, I specialise in deeply restorative head spa treatments that go far beyond a standard hair wash. This is where scalp therapy, facial massage, and nervous system regulation come together to create something you can actually feel.
I’m Carina a mum of five, former NHS nurse turned homeopathic practitioner and the hands behind every treatment.
After years of working in high-pressure environments and then navigating my own journey into natural health, I saw how many women were stuck in constant stress, tension, and overwhelm with no real space to switch off.
So I created The Cocoon Room.
A calm, private space in Bedfordshire where your body can finally come out of fight-or-flight.
Using the Japanese Head Spa water halo, steam therapy, lymphatic facial massage, and slow, intentional touch, each treatment is designed to soothe the nervous system, release tension, and bring your body back into balance.

Ive been wanting to try a Japanese headspa for over a year and finally got round to booking one. So glad I chose the Cocoon Room. The room was clean, comfortable and decorated beautifully. It had such a calming atmosphere with relaxing sounds and lovely smells - these enhanced the experience. Carina was super friendly and very knowledgeable. She explained everything first so that during the experience I could totally relax and I definitely did!! I had such a relaxing experience that I felt I was sinking into the bed, it was just so wonderful. After having a baby this was just the pamper session I needed. Im already looking forward to booking to go again. Highly recommend

I really can't recommend Carina enough, after another school holiday and not getting 5 minutes away I decided to book a Scratch & Skim session. The second I walked through the door Carina made me feel so at ease and comfortable. The treatment itself is amazing, I had full body tingles the entire time and really had to fight not to fall asleep 😅. The bed is soo comfortable and the room is gorgeous.
