Hi, my name is Alex and welcome to my new (opened April 2025), purpose built, garden nail salon.
After spending over 15 stressful years working in NHS theatres as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), I have finally taken the plunge to change my career and follow my passions for nail art and spa relaxation.
My clinical healthcare background means I can offer you the very best service for your nail health (and mental health) in a beautiful and relaxing environment.
Here at The Nail Palette, you will find calm, relaxing, unrushed nail services, for an experience you will enjoy, not endure.
My nail salon is built to a high standard, fully insulated, double glazed, heated/air conditioned, filtered water supply, extractor fan, TV and WiFi, to keep you comfortable in all seasons.
As a new nail technician, my goals are expert nail care and nail health in a relaxing spa like environment, therefore cuticle prep takes time. If you want your nails done in 30 mins, I am not the nail tech for you. Thank you so much for reading.

If you are totally new to nails and don't have a clue where to start, relax and book the 'Help! I Want Gorgeous Nails But Don't Know What to Book!' service. We can then discuss your requirements on arrival and amend the booking and price as appropriate.

As this is a home garden based salon, please be aware of the following:
ARRIVAL TIME Please do not arrive early as I might still be with the previous client and unable to answer the door. However, if you are early, I can see you on the ring cameras and will always come and get you if I am free. Please be aware that the side gate is locked.
CORRECT ADDRESS Please ensure you are at the correct house 3 Bellfields Lane - It is a semi detached house, I have a gravel driveway and a red front door on the side through a small gate. I also have 2 very small thin trees on each side of my driveway. Clients have accidentally gone to 1 Bellfields Lane (as it is the third house from the junction) or 3 Bellfields Street (this is a terraced house around the corner).
GARDEN ACCESS TO THE NAIL SALON The salon is at the end of my garden, please come to the front door, ring the bell and I will escort you through to the garden. There is a 20 meter gravel path not suitable for high heels and a step and hand rail to get into the nail salon.
PETS There are 2 dogs who live in the house, they are very friendly and may come and say hello but they are not allowed in the nail salon.
TOILET FACILITIES If a toilet break is required, you are welcome to use the main house bathroom. Please be aware it is upstairs, no ground floor toilet is available.
MOBILITY If you have impaired mobility and feel you could not manage the steps or path or upstairs toilet, allow me to come to you. I offer a mobile service for those in the Market Harborough area who require my services but struggle with getting out and about. Just message me to arrange personally.
There is one parking space on my driveway, please park in the middle, close up next to my black Ford Puma and well off the road.
Please ensure you have the correct house - there is a small sign under my house number saying 'The Nail Palette' and I have a RED front door which is on the side of the house! My house can get mixed up with No 1 Bellfields Lane (as it is the third house along) or No 3 Bellfields Street (which is a terraced house around the corner).
Additional free parking if required is at the Skate Park off Bellfields Street, 170yrds away. Please do not park on the pavement behind the car wash, or parallel to the driveway causing an obstruction.

Please be aware that I am only able to provide nail services for over 16 year olds.
For those under 16 years of age, a parent/guardian must accompany the child for the duration of the nail service and a full discussion on risks and benefits will be held before consent is given and commencement of any nail products being applied.
This is for insurance purposes, but also because nails are still developing and it is not recommended to have gel or acrylic nails under the age of 16.
The National Occupational Standards (NOS) recommend written parental consent for clients under 16.
I offer a full money back guarantee if you are not totally satisfied with the results of your nail service before leaving the salon. Any product will be removed and a free cuticle oil provided.
Any issues that appear within 72 hours must be notified immediately and I will endeavour to remedy it for free, as soon as you can attend the salon.
Please advise me of any other issues you encounter on your nail journey, as we can work together to work out why it has happened and a plan to resolve it and prevent reoccurrence.

This is a treatment designed to provide support to the symptoms of some common nail conditions by penetrating through the nail plate onto the nail bed and the surrounding soft tissue.
Unfortunately, there are no “quick fixes” when it comes to addressing these nail conditions. This is because a new toenail must grow to replace the old, damaged toenail. This time frame varies on how fast or slow your toenails grow and how severe the nail condition is.
Affected fingernails tend to progress more quickly since they grow faster and have a less harsh environment.
If in doubt about a specific symptom, you should see your GP or Podiatrist.

I can reconstruct new nails using a skin and nail safe product which is UV cured. This can then be filed into shape and either a natural or more colourful gel polish can be applied.
These nails will grow out with your natural nail and can be filed down as it grows.
