Aftercare for Nails

Don’t Soak in Water: To avoid lifting or moisture getting under the nail product, do not soak your hands in water - wear gloves for washing up and keep your hands/toes out of the bath water! No Heat Exposure: Avoid exposing your nails to excessive heat or moisture for the first 24 hours after your nail care procedures. Avoid Certain Activities: Avoid subjecting your nails to excessive pressure, such as opening cans or using your nails as tools. Cuticle and Nail Oil: Apply cuticle oil or a nourishing nail oil daily to keep your cuticles and nails hydrated. Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Steer clear of harsh chemicals, such as household cleaning agents, without wearing protective gloves. Regular Maintenance: Schedule regular nail care appointments for maintenance, including fills, repairs, or removal of nail extensions. Ensure you have nail products removed by a professional. Protection Against UV Rays: Use sunscreen or wear gloves when exposed to UV rays, as these can cause discoloration or damage. Be Mindful of Allergies: If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as redness, itching, or swelling, discontinue the use of any nail care products and consult with a professional. Small cuts: There is a risk of receiving a small cut during any manicure or pedicure. If you suffer any pain, discomfort or signs of infection, please let Alex at The Nail Palette know as soon as possible for advice. Treatment can include a warm water soak, application of Vaseline and a clean dressing. These steps will aid healing and help to prevent infection. Signs of infection to look out for include redness, swelling, pain or pus.
