To help you achieve the best results and minimise side effects, please follow these instructions carefully after any treatment at Bare Laser Clinic, including laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and skin therapies.
What to Expect Immediately After Treatment
Redness, Bumps, or Swelling: It is normal for the treated area to appear red, slightly raised, or warm, similar to a mild sunburn. This can last a few hours or longer depending on the treatment. Use a cold compress if needed and apply Aloe Vera gel or an antiseptic cream to soothe irritation.
Darker Skin Tones: Individuals with darker skin may experience slightly more discomfort. Apply Aloe Vera gel or antiseptic ointment as needed.
Tattoo Removal Specifics: The treated area may blister or form scabs. This is normal and part of the healing process. Do not pick or scratch the area.
Skin Care After Treatment
Moisturise Regularly: Keep the area hydrated to reduce irritation and support healing. For laser hair removal and skin therapies, apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser. Avoid products with alpha hydroxy acids, retinol, or strong exfoliants for at least 48 hours.
Avoid Scented Products: Showering is fine after treatment, but avoid hot water, scented soaps, deodorants, and perfumes for 48 hours. Pat the area dry—do not rub.
Shaving Guidance (Hair Removal Only): Avoid shaving for 10–14 days. From day 10, you may gently exfoliate the area twice a week to help dead hairs shed. On day 14, you may resume shaving and monitor your results.
Sun Exposure and Tanning
Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area for at least four weeks. Always use SPF 30 or higher sunscreen between treatments and for one to two months afterward.
No Self-Tanning: Do not use self-tanning products for at least one week after treatment.
Avoiding Irritation and Injury
Loose Clothing: Wear loose clothing over treated areas to prevent friction and irritation.
Avoid Heat and Intense Activity: For 48 hours, avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths or showers, and high intensity exercise. Avoid chlorine pools and scented bubble baths.
No Scratching or Picking: Do not pick, scratch, or rub treated areas, even if scabbing occurs, as this may cause infection or scarring.
Hair Shedding and Exfoliation (Hair Removal Only)
Shedding Process: Five to thirty days after laser hair removal, you may notice what looks like new hair growth. This is actually dead hair shedding from the follicle. Gently exfoliate the area to encourage this process.
Hair Regrowth: New hair will not grow in the treated area for at least three weeks after treatment.
Tattoo Removal Specifics
The area may blister, crust, or darken temporarily.
Avoid picking or scratching the scabs to prevent scarring.
Continue applying a gentle healing ointment as advised by your practitioner.
Healing can take several weeks; follow any additional instructions provided for repeat sessions.
Skin Therapies Specifics
Your skin may appear flushed, sensitive, or slightly tight after treatment.
Avoid exfoliants, strong acids, or harsh scrubs for at least 48 hours.
Hydrate the skin and use the recommended post-treatment moisturisers.
