😎Avoid UV Exposure • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for 2-4 weeks before treatment. • UV exposure between sessions should also be minimised to prevent any risk of complications. • If you arrive to your appointment with recent sun exposure/sun bed use, or freshly tanned skin (real or fake) your appointment will be cancelled and you will still be charged the full appointment fee. 🪒Shave the Treatment Area • Shave the area you’ll be having treated no less than 24 hours before your appointment. Please avoid waxing, plucking, or using hair removal creams for at least 4 weeks prior, as the hair follicle needs to be intact for effective results. ðŸšSkip Alcohol and Smoking •Avoid alcohol and smoking the night before and on the day of your treatment. This helps to minimise skin sensitivity. 🫧Come with Clean, Bare Skin • Please do not wear any makeup, lotions, deodorants or creams on the treatment area on the day of your appointment. • Ensure the treatment area is clean and dry upon arrival. 💉Avoid Additional Skin Treatments / Medications • Avoid any skin peels, laser procedures, or microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks before your appointment. • Leave at least two weeks between any aesthetics procedures and laser/IPL. This includes but is not limited to microneedling, Botox and filler. • Do not exfoliate the area or undergo microdermabrasion for at least 1 week before your session. • Discontinue any products with retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or other exfoliants at least 7 days prior to your session. • Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oils, for 48 hours prior (unless medically necessary). 🧴No Bleaching Creams or Perfumed Products • Refrain from using any bleaching creams or perfumed products on the treatment area for 48 hours before treatment. 💪Skip the Gym • Please avoid exercising before your treatment, as sweat can irritate the skin post-treatment. 💧Hydrate Well • Drink plenty of water to keep your skin and body hydrated. Hydrated skin responds better to laser treatments! Please Note: These pre-treatment instructions are essential for the success and safety of your laser session. If they are not followed, your appointment may need to be rescheduled, resulting in the loss of your deposit. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
To help you achieve the best results and minimise side effects, please follow these instructions carefully after your laser treatment: What to Expect Immediately After Treatment • Redness and Bumps: It’s normal for the treated area to appear red and bumpy, similar to a mild sunburn, for up to 2 hours or longer. You may feel some warmth and discomfort. Use a cold compress if needed, and apply Aloe Vera gel or antiseptic cream to soothe any irritation. • Darker Skin Tones: If you have a darker skin tone, you may experience more discomfort. Apply Aloe Vera gel or an antiseptic ointment as needed. Skin Care After Treatment • Moisturise Regularly: You can apply makeup immediately after the treatment unless you experience blistering. Ensure you use a moisturiser underneath to reduce the risk of infection and to help exfoliate dead hairs from the follicle. Use a moisturiser without alpha-hydroxy acids. • Avoid Scented Products: You may shower after your treatment, but avoid hot showers or baths. Wash the treated area gently with unscented soap, and avoid scented products, deodorants, and perfumes for 48 hours. Pat the area dry—don’t rub. • Avoid Shaving: Try to avoid shaving for 14 days post-treatment. 10 days after treatment, gently exfoliate the area using a washcloth or exfoliating gloves twice a week to encourage shedding. On day 14, you can shave and start monitoring your results. Top tip: use a men’s razor in between laser appointments for a close shave! Sun Exposure & Tanning • Sun Protection: Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks to reduce the risk of dark or light spots. Always apply an SPF 30+ sunscreen between treatments and for at least 1-2 months afterward. • No Self-Tanning: Avoid using self-tanning products for 1 week after treatment. Avoiding Irritation & Injury • Avoid Restrictive Clothing: Wear loose clothing over the treatment area to avoid irritation. • Avoid Exercising and Heat: For 48 hours, avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths/showers, and high-intensity exercise. Refrain from chlorine pools and scented bubble baths. • No Scratching or Picking: Don’t pick or scratch the treated area, even if there is crusting, as it can lead to infection or scarring. Hair Shedding and Exfoliation • Shedding Process: 5-30 days after treatment, you may notice what appears to be new hair growth. This is not new growth—it’s dead hair shedding from the follicle. You can gently exfoliate the area to help this process along. • Hair Regrowth: New hair won’t grow back in the treated area for at least 3 weeks after treatment. When to Call If you experience any unusual symptoms, concerns, or discomfort, don’t hesitate to call your laser technician for advice. Please Note: The appearance of stubble or shedding hair is normal and indicates the process is working as intended. You should notice these hairs fall out within 10-20 days after your treatment. By following these guidelines, you’ll help ensure safe and effective results. If you have any questions or need additional support, feel free to reach out!
