Getting reviews from happy clients doesn’t just boost your confidence — it builds trust, improves your SEO, and helps more people find and choose your business online. But if you’ve ever wondered how to actually get clients to leave a review, you’re not alone.
Tips From a Google Insider
We spoke to Solo member Cat, owner of luxury facial and spray tan business Glowee, who also happens to be a former Google employee. She shared her top tips for collecting more reviews — without feeling pushy or awkward.
Here’s how she does it 👇
1. Ask at the perfect moment
The best time to ask for a review? Right after an appointment, when your client is feeling relaxed, refreshed, and at their happiest.
“After their treatment I always ask clients how they found me — it’s good to know which marketing channels are working. Then I check in on how their experience was. If they’re happy, I invite them to leave a review on Google.”
That casual moment of connection can be the perfect opening to ask — and most clients are happy to help.
2. Make it super easy
Don’t make your clients search for your review page. The easier it is, the more likely they are to follow through.
“I include my Google review link in my monthly newsletter, alongside treatment updates and product tips. I also post it weekly on Instagram as a gentle, value-led reminder.”
Think subtle nudges:
Add your link to post-appointment texts or emails
Keep it in your Instagram bio or pinned stories
Add it to your email footer or booking confirmation
3. Offer added value
Never underestimate the power of a thank-you. A small gesture can go a long way in building loyalty — and getting more reviews.
“If I’m looking to boost reviews, I’ll offer a free LED session, an iced drink, or early access to new treatments as a thank-you for leaving a review and booking again.”
It doesn’t have to be flashy. Just a small, thoughtful gesture can help show appreciation and make clients feel valued.
