Nails have always been a creative outlet for me, but Silva Lining Nails is more than just a place to get your nails done. For me, nails are about expressing identity and creating those small moments of self-care that help us feel like ourselves again.
That belief comes from my own family experience, where I saw how much of an impact it can have when someone no longer has access to those small rituals of care. It showed me that a manicure isn’t just cosmetic - it can restore confidence, dignity, and joy.
That’s why I created Silva Lining Nails as a space for more than a “quick in and out” service. Every appointment is a pampering experience: from detailed cuticle prep to supporting long-term nail health, with time to enjoy a hot or cold drink, snacks, and a moment that’s just for you. We can chat, listen to music, or keep things quiet if you’d like to decompress. Appointments are always 1-to-1, with plenty of time built in so you never feel rushed - it’s all about YOU.
Silva Lining Nails also gives back. Every service contributes to our Silva Lining Community Fund, which helps provide free appointments to people in our community facing hardship, such as those living with illness or unable to leave home. It’s a small way of tackling social isolation and supporting confidence through care.
And the name? It's a nod to my Portuguese heritage and a reminder that there's always a little "Silva Lining" to be found.
At Silva Lining Nails, every appointment is about more than nails - it’s about care, confidence, and those little rituals of self care that make us feel like ourselves again.
The Community Fund is especially close to my heart because it’s inspired by my own family experience. When I was supporting and caring for my Nana, I saw how much she struggled after suddenly becoming bedbound. All it took was having someone support her with getting her hair washed, styled, and her nails done - and I saw how much that helped her feel a little more like herself again.
Unfortunately, access to these rituals after major life changes isn’t easy. Beauty services can be costly and feel like a low priority when money is needed for additional care needs. And while home carers do an incredible job, they are often stretched for time and can only focus on immediate needs. Yet, these self-care rituals remain deeply important - for confidence, identity, and the feeling of being “you” when everything else in your daily life is changing.
That experience taught me that something as simple as a manicure isn’t just cosmetic. It can restore dignity, connection, and joy. Creating the Community Fund was my way of ensuring that others in similar situations don’t have to miss out on that feeling.
Through the Community Fund, my mission is to:
• Make nail care and pampering accessible to those who might otherwise miss out. • Help tackle social isolation by creating moments of connection and care. • Offer the same calm, detailed, 1-to-1 appointments - whether you’re paying or receiving support through the fund.
Every time you book an appointment, you’re contributing to this mission.
A portion of every paid appointment goes into the Community Fund.
People can apply for themselves or be nominated by someone else.
I review requests regularly and offer appointments as the fund allows.
Recipients receive the full Silva Lining experience: a 1-to-1 pampering appointment with proper nail care, a hot or cold drink, snacks, and the time to truly relax.
The Community Fund is there for people in our community who may be: • Living with chronic illness or disability • Facing financial hardship • Feeling isolated or going through a tough time
The process is simple and based on trust - no intrusive proof, just a short explanation.
• Apply for yourself - if you’d benefit from a Community Fund appointment. • Nominate someone - If you know someone who could use a pampering moment. • Contribute - Add a little extra when booking, purchase a gift card, or donate directly to help fund more appointments.
Please get in touch directly via email (silvaliningnails@outlook.com) or through social media to find out more about how to apply or nominate someone.
