I kindly require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations and 24 hours’ notice for rescheduling. This allows me the opportunity to offer your appointment time to another client.
Appointments cancelled with less than the required notice may be subject to a 50% charge of the booked service, or I may decline future bookings. This is in line with my Terms & Conditions and helps protect my time as a small, one-to-one business.
Thank you for understanding and respecting the time set aside for your appointment.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you’re delayed.
If you arrive more than 15–20 minutes late, I may need to shorten your service or rearrange your appointment, depending on the treatment booked and whether I have another client scheduled after you.
If your lateness means the appointment cannot go ahead, it will be treated as a late cancellation, and my Terms & Conditions will apply.
As a small, one-to-one business, appointment time is reserved especially for you, so I appreciate your understanding.
Yes! I understand that finding childcare can be difficult, and as parents, it's even more important to prioritise those little 'me' moments; therefore, children are welcome.
Please let me know in advance so I can extend your appointment time. When little ones are with you, I often work one hand at a time so you always have a free hand to help them, and as a result, this takes some additional time.
Letting me know in advance also helps me set up (free of charge):
Yes, 100%. As someone with ADHD myself, I understand that getting your nails done can be daunting or overstimulating for some people.
I'm more than happy to (free of charge):
Just let me know what you need when booking, and I'll make sure the appointment works for you.
At Silva Lining Nails, every appointment is about more than nails - it’s about care, confidence, and those little rituals of self care that make us feel like ourselves again.
The Community Fund is especially close to my heart because it’s inspired by my own family experience. When I was supporting and caring for my Nana, I saw how much she struggled after suddenly becoming bedbound. All it took was having someone support her with getting her hair washed, styled, and her nails done - and I saw how much that helped her feel a little more like herself again.
Unfortunately, access to these rituals after major life changes isn’t easy. Beauty services can be costly and feel like a low priority when money is needed for additional care needs. And while home carers do an incredible job, they are often stretched for time and can only focus on immediate needs. Yet, these self-care rituals remain deeply important - for confidence, identity, and the feeling of being “you” when everything else in your daily life is changing.
That experience taught me that something as simple as a manicure isn’t just cosmetic. It can restore dignity, connection, and joy. Creating the Community Fund was my way of ensuring that others in similar situations don’t have to miss out on that feeling.
Yes, I can still work on your nails, but depending on the level of damage, we may choose different products (such as BIAB or hard gel) to support healthy regrowth. Please note that significant nail damage can affect lifting and overall longevity, but I’ll always work with you to choose what’s best for your natural nail health.
If the damage is more severe (for example, Onycholysis, where the natural nail has lifted from the nail bed), I won’t be able to apply product to that nail until it has grown out. In these situations, I’m more than happy to create a custom matching nail ring so you can still enjoy a cohesive manicure while the nail heals. I’ll also guide you on how to care for it safely during the regrowth period.
If there are any signs of infection, I may need to postpone the appointment for your well-being.
