Thank you for choosing The Movement Therapist! Aftercare advice: Following your treatment, you are likely to feel sore and tender in the areas treated. Please be reassured that this is completely normal, as these areas have been stretched and had firm pressure on them to assist recovery. If you have received myofascial cupping during your treatment, you will likely have circular marks on the skin where the cups have been placed. Again, this is normal and expected after treatment where the vacuum has been placed on the tissue to release tension. The marks should disappear in 7-10 days. Things to consider following your treatment: - Drink plenty of water to hydrate the muscles and tissues, which aid recovery - Avoid alcohol after treatment as this can dehydrate tissue and muscles - Avoid vigorous exercise and strenuous movements - for example, do not plan a session at the gym AFTER a treatment as the risk of injury is increased in the hours after massage/cupping. If provided rehab exercises during your session, please make sure that you complete these where possible. Treatment in isolation aids recovery when injured or in pain, but the work doesn’t stop there. Your recovery is a journey. Exercises/stretches provided will further assist and escalate your recovery. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email, text or social media. Thank you Alex
